Thieu Hoa is a land with a long history, culture and revolutionary tradition. There are many tangible cultural heritages that are preserved and promoted. According to statistics, Thieu Hoa district has 44 ranked relics, of which 6 are national relics and 38 are provincial relics. Many relics have great cultural, historical and revolutionary values such as: Do Mountain archaeological site - where the life of ancient Vietnamese people was discovered, Le Van Huu Temple relic; Dinh Le Temple, Nguyen Quan Nho Temple, Nguyen Quang Minh Temple, Duong Tam Kha Temple, Tran Luu Temple... outstanding writers and generals in Vietnam's feudal history.
The most prominent is the Le Van Huu Temple Historical Relic (Thieu Trung Commune). Le Van Huu Temple was ranked as a National Historical and Cultural Relic since 1990. This is the place to worship historian Le Van Huu - the founder of Vietnam's National History, author of the famous historical work "Dai Viet Su Ky". Faced with the long-term deterioration of Le Van Huu Temple, Party committees and authorities at all levels have paid attention to building a plan and roadmap for restoration and embellishment, with a total investment of over 29 billion VND. After completion, the temple attracted a large number of people and tourists, becoming a sacred destination, a "red address" to educate young generations about the tradition of patriotism, the will, the spirit of overcoming difficulties of their ancestors and the morality of drinking water and remembering its source.
In addition to the valuable relic system, Thieu Hoa district also preserves many unique intangible cultural values that represent the spiritual and cultural life of the Vietnamese people. Up to now, the district still preserves about 32 intangible cultural heritages; these are traditional festivals, social customs, games, performances, folk performing arts, folk knowledge, writing, traditional occupations, etc. Typical of which is the national intangible cultural heritage of folk performing arts "lantern dance and ancient cheo singing". According to the tradition of Cao Nhan village (Thieu Quang), "lantern dance and ancient cheo singing" are performed on January 12, during the Ngu Vong Phuong festival. "lantern dance and ancient cheo singing" were once lost. However, with the desire to preserve the unique cultural values of the locality, the government and people of Thieu Hoa district have unanimously restored, preserved and promoted the value of "lantern dance and ancient Cheo singing".
The attention to preserving and promoting traditional cultural values in Thieu Hoa district has brought about positive results. That is, the cultural and spiritual life of the people has been improved, traditional culture has become the foundation for tourism development and socio-economic development, gradually affirming the strengths of the land rich in cultural, historical and revolutionary traditions.
To preserve and promote traditional cultural values, Thieu Hoa district has paid special attention to the restoration and reconstruction of relics and festivals and cultural forms. This is most clearly demonstrated by the fact that "lantern dance and ancient Cheo singing" were once a type of culture that was lost but "swam against the current" to become national intangible cultural heritage. Along with that, in recent years, many relics have completed investment, restoration, embellishment and anti-degradation such as Yen Lo communal house (Thieu Vu), Nguyen Quan Nho tomb (Thieu Hoa town); Vu Nhu Du church, Thieu Quang commune, Dong Lo communal house, Thieu Long commune... Some relics have been approved for investment and are being implemented such as the Command Bunker of Thanh Hoa Provincial Military Command in the period of 1965-1967, Le Khac Thao temple, Dinh Le temple...
At the same time, Thieu Hoa district has strengthened the management, protection and exploitation of historical and cultural relics, scenic spots as well as the management and organization of festivals and cultural forms in the district.
