At the meeting, Ninh Thuan and Binh Thuan provinces reported on the socio-economic situation, production and business, construction investment and import-export; disbursement of public investment capital; progress of construction of nuclear power plants; implementation of Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo on breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation and national digital transformation; results of the emulation movement to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in the area. Accordingly, in Ninh Thuan province, with the motto "Solidarity and discipline; proactive creativity; streamlined efficiency; accelerated breakthrough", along with timely support from the Central Government, consensus of the people and businesses, the socio-economic situation in the first quarter of 2025 continued to maintain stability and growth. Agricultural, forestry and fishery production achieved positive results; Industry - construction grew steadily, processed and manufactured industrial products increased by 7.45% over the same period; total retail sales and service revenue increased by 12.7%. Total budget revenue is estimated at 1,880 billion VND, reaching 34% of the estimate, up 43.2% over the same period. Import and export activities have improved, total import and export turnover is 29.68 million USD, up 42.35% over the same period; the disbursement rate of public investment capital plan reached 9.5% of the estimate assigned by the Prime Minister; compensation, site clearance, resettlement and implementation of the construction of the nuclear power plant ensured the set progress. Regarding the results of the implementation of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses, the Provincial People's Committee approved the list of poor and near-poor households to support the construction and repair of houses for 1,361 households; Of which, 995 households built new and 366 households repaired, with a total cost of 70,680 million VND.
Comrade Tran Quoc Nam, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee spoke at the meeting.
Speaking at the meeting, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee said: In order to achieve the growth target of 13.5% in 2025, the Provincial Party Committee and the People's Committee have issued action programs and plans to lead, direct and assign specific tasks to each sector, field and locality determined to implement right from the beginning of the year. To help the province strive to achieve the highest growth target, he recommended that the Prime Minister's Working Group pay attention to and support some contents such as: It is necessary to deeply and comprehensively assess the difficulties of the business community, especially the private enterprise sector, thereby having directions to adjust and deploy timely solutions; Early direction of the Ministry of Industry and Trade to consider and support the removal of difficulties and obstacles for renewable energy projects, especially the recognition of commercial operation date and FIT price for 14 power projects and urgently complete the adjustment of the VIII power plan, in order to promote new capacity to contribute to the growth of the province. Early consideration of capital allocation for the province to accelerate site clearance, resettlement of people for the nuclear power plant and support the central budget to prioritize infrastructure investment in 4 key and driving projects, contributing to the completion of infrastructure, promoting socio-economic development of the province. Regarding the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses, it is expected that by the end of June 2025, the province will complete the target according to the plan.
After listening to representatives of central ministries and branches discuss and answer the difficulties and problems proposed by the two provinces, Minister of Finance Nguyen Van Thang highly appreciated the economic growth results of the two localities in the first quarter. Regarding the tasks in the coming time, he requested that localities focus on reviewing and evaluating all achieved and unachieved targets from the beginning of the year to promptly overcome difficulties and limitations and develop synchronous solutions for socio-economic development on the basis of maximizing the potential and advantages in the area. Continue to create a favorable environment for investment, production and business activities, develop science, technology, innovation and digital transformation; Resolutely deploy and complete documents and procedures to strive to disburse 95% of total public investment capital in 2025. Urgently and effectively implement Resolution No. 189/2025/QH15 of the National Assembly on a number of special mechanisms and policies for investment in the construction of nuclear power plant projects; promptly stabilize the organizational apparatus after the merger of departments and branches to ensure stable and continuous operation. Strengthen the mobilization of resources to complete the Project to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses for poor and near-poor households. With the recommendations of the two provinces, it is requested that relevant central ministries and branches urgently consider, resolve and report to the Government for direction and timely handling of remaining problems.
