The forum aims to evaluate the typical values of the terraced fields between Sa Pa and Mu Cang Chai; the potential and opportunities for conservation and tourism development from a multi-dimensional approach including: conservation of relics, land use planning, investment in construction of civil works and services, conservation of cultural space, and exploitation of tourism associated with agriculture.
The forum also proposed solutions for cooperation in developing terraced field tourism products and building common product brands for the two localities.

Mr. Phan Dang Toan, Secretary of Sa Pa Town Party Committee, Lao Cai province, spoke at the meeting.
At the forum, the two localities introduced the potential and strengths of terraced fields, management, conservation and exploitation of the value of terraced fields, linking the development of terraced fields with tourism and people's livelihoods.

Mr. Nong Viet Yen, Secretary of Mu Cang Chai District Party Committee, Yen Bai province spoke at the meeting.
The forum recorded many opinions about the role and orientation of each locality in contributing to the development of tourism in the regional linkage in the coming time. Especially in the management, use, and clearance of land related to land, as well as other tourism activities in the scenic area.
At the forum, the two localities agreed to cooperate in state management of terraced field tourism, tourism development, promotion, tourism human resource development, and investment promotion for tourism development.

Leaders of the two localities discussed the Road connecting the terraced fields heritage.
The leaders of Sa Pa town and Mu Cang Chai district also emphasized that they will continue to coordinate with districts in the region to help tourism in the two localities reap practical values.
The two localities also pledged to continue to actively contribute to the inter-regional cooperation mechanism for developing terraced field tourism, striving to soon become one of the tourist centers of the Northwest region.
