Candidates are mentally prepared to pass the "gate of heaven"

On the morning of June 5, nearly 99,000 candidates in Ho Chi Minh City went to the exam site to learn about the exam regulations and check personal information to enter the 10th grade public high school exam for the 2024-2025 school year.

For the 2024-2025 school year, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training has assigned more than 71,000 enrollment quotas to 113 public high schools. Compared to the number of candidates registered for the exam, it is expected that more than 27,000 candidates will not be able to enter grade 10 at public schools this year.

Nguyen Huu Huan High School is the school with the highest competition rate for grade 10 admission at 1/3.54, followed by Nguyen Thuong Hien High School in second place with a competition rate of 1/3.16, followed by Ho Thi Bi School at 1/3.06.

At Nguyen Huu Huan High School (Thu Duc City, Ho Chi Minh City), there are 785 candidates, preparations for this year's exam are ready. Outside the school gate, parents are anxiously waiting, taking care of the best logistics to accompany their children in this important turning point.

Parent Dang Tan Tai (Phuoc Long A ward, Thu Duc city, Ho Chi Minh city) said: "The choice of school registration is up to the child, the parents are mainly responsible for logistics and taking care of the child. The family does not put much pressure on the child, I just encourage the child to take the exam to the best of his ability. From my life experience, I see that there are many paths to success, if you do not pass the specialized exam, you can study at a regular school, if you do not pass the public school, you can study at a private school... as long as you try hard to study and practice morality, that's enough."

Parent Vo Nhat Thien Lan (Tam Binh, Thu Duc, Ho Chi Minh City) confided: "This is the first time I took my child to take the entrance exam to grade 10 at a public school. My child registered for the math class at Nguyen Huu Huan School. I saw that my child studied a lot, studying until 1am every night. The family did not put any pressure on my child. My child is passionate about math and made his own choice, so my parents had to support him. Before the exam day, I could only advise my child to stay calm and do well on his exam."

Le Hoang Khanh Linh, a candidate at Nguyen Huu Huan High School exam site, shared: "I registered for the history class at Tran Dai Nghia High School. I dream of becoming a lawyer in the future. To prepare for this exam, I reviewed my lessons very early, mastered the knowledge and was ready to take the exam."

The 2024-2025 public high school entrance exam in Ho Chi Minh City will take place over two days, June 6 and 7. The exam will be held at 158 exam sites, including 147 regular grade 10 exam sites and 11 specialized grade 10 exam sites. The total number of exam rooms is 4,513. Candidates will take the exam in 3 compulsory subjects: Literature, Math, Foreign Language and a specialized or integrated subject exam (if they register for a specialized or integrated grade 10). To ensure the exam is safe and serious, the education and training sector has mobilized more than 13,000 exam invigilators and 2,300 service staff, security guards, police... to work at the exam sites.
