Miss Universe Vietnam contestant recounts falling face down on the floor while performing in a bikini

The Miss Universe Vietnam contest has just ended in the last days of 2023. The result of the Miss title belongs to Bui Thi Xuan Hanh from Ninh Binh, the runner-up belongs to Hoang Thi Nhung.

This year's contest caused controversy when highly regarded candidates throughout the contest such as Vu Thuy Quynh, Ngo Bao Ngoc... did not achieve high rankings.

In addition, the organizers chose the contest location in Da Lat during the unfavorable weather, which significantly affected the contestants' performances. Most notably, contestant Kieu Thi Thuy Hang fell quite painfully during the bikini performance.

Thuy Hang's controversial crown and fall were the highlights of the Miss Universe 2023 Final night.

Sharing with VTC News about this incident, Thuy Hang said that at that time the stage was slippery so she slipped and fell quite painfully. Luckily, this unexpected accident did not affect her much. When she fell, she just tried to stand up as quickly as possible to finish the performance.

What made Thuy Hang feel comforted was that after the fall, she received more attention and love from everyone. After the competition night, Thuy Hang scrolled through social media sites and saw pictures of herself “lying on the floor”. She said that close friends and the audience even teased her, “ Why did you sleep on the floor?”

Sharing more about the unfavorable stage conditions during the contestants' performances, Thuy Hang said that during the final night, the floor was very slippery and dangerous due to the weather. The organizers had a plan to use rags and during each commercial, a crew would come out to clean the stage floor. However, the fog in Da Lat descended very quickly and many stages were still wet.

After finishing the competition, Thuy Hang went backstage and received a lot of attention from her friends and crew. "Everyone came to see if I was okay. But at that time, I didn't feel anything. After the competition night, I realized that I was swollen and bruised. That's when I felt my body aching."

After the bikini performance, Thuy Hang stopped at the Top 10. However, she did not think that the fall caused her to be out of the Top 5. She said: "After that fall, I stood up with the most charisma and completed my performance as best as I could. I think I could not go further because of some other reasons, not because of this incident. Everything happens for a reason and I will go back and review my performance as well as my entire competition to learn from my experience."

Kieu Thi Thuy Hang participated in the Miss Universe 2019 contest and stopped at the Top 15. The reason she returned to this contest once again was because of the criteria "Made, not born - I train to be me" given by the organizers. She wanted to come back so that everyone could see how Kieu Thi Thuy Hang has grown and become compared to 4 years ago.

When returning to the Miss Cosmo contest this year, Thuy Hang set a goal of achieving the title of 1st Runner-up. Although the result was not as expected, she did not feel any regret.

When asked about the results of the contest, Thuy Hang said she respected the choices of the Organizing Committee and the judges because they were all experienced people who could look at the problem and evaluate the contestants. As for her personal opinion, she asked permission not to give an answer.

Thuy Hang is known to the audience as one of the beauties who actively participates in beauty contests to seek titles and assert herself. She revealed that people often call her “Miss Perseverance” and she really likes this title because people have recognized her efforts and hard work.

Top 10 Miss Cosmo added that after this contest she will not participate in any other beauty contests. The beauty decided to move to the South to continue her artistic activities.

During the competition, Thuy Hang was noticed by many people for her singing ability, so she will consider pursuing a musical career. However, the beauty from Hanoi affirmed that she will spend time practicing and preparing fully before starting this path.
