Another bidding package worth nearly 2,900 billion is about to start at Long Thanh airport

On October 21, Vietnam Airports Corporation (ACV, the investor of Long Thanh Airport Component 3 Project) announced the results of the contractor selection for package 4.9. This is a package for construction, equipment installation and design drawings for the aircraft fuel supply system.

According to ACV, the consortium of Vietnam Oil and Gas Technical Services Corporation and BCA Thang Long Company Limited is the winning contractor for the above package. The winning bid price is nearly VND2,900 billion and the contract implementation period is 20 months (2 months shorter than the previous bidding schedule).

Previously, on July 30, package 4.9 was publicly bid online with 3 bidders participating. However, 2 bidders were eliminated in the technical evaluation stage due to not meeting the requirements.

According to Vietnam Airports Corporation, after announcing the contractor selection results, ACV will negotiate and finalize the contract with the winning contractor consortium. It is expected that construction of Package 4.9 will begin at the end of October 2024.

The construction site has nearly 6,000 domestic and international engineers and workers with thousands of machines, vehicles and equipment for construction.

Regarding the progress of the Long Thanh airport project, ACV said that the main packages of the component project 3 are basically meeting the set schedule. Specifically, the value of package 5.10 (passenger terminal) has reached nearly 30%. At the same time, the joint venture has completed all reinforced concrete columns and floor beams of the floors. At the construction site, the contractor for this item is currently processing and assembling the roof steel structure.

In addition to the progress of the rough construction, all the work of purchasing and ordering ME equipment, station equipment, HBS system, and facade glass walls has been implemented, signed contracts with suppliers and manufacturers, and is in the process of manufacturing and processing components... according to the proposed schedule.

Long Thanh airport runway is under rapid construction.

For package 4.6 (runway, taxiway, apron), about 30% of the contract value has been achieved so far. The construction unit is carrying out excavation, filling, sand, crushed stone, and M150 and M350 cement concrete.

As for package 6.12 (connecting road T1, T2), the contractor has mobilized 756 personnel, 150 machines and equipment to the construction site and simultaneously deployed construction teams.

Currently, the construction unit is implementing items such as filling soil K95, K98 route 2, spreading crushed stone aggregate on routes T1, T2. Deploying bored piles, constructing bridge piers, Super T girders, hollow slab girders, soil cement piles, drainage system. Up to now, the value of the construction volume has reached nearly 55% of the contract value.

Package 4.7 (construction and installation of aircraft parking equipment) was also signed from September 15, 2024. Vietnam Airports Corporation has started construction of the package since the end of September with an implementation period of 690 days and is expected to be completed on August 11, 2026.
