On May 22, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Trinh Thi Thuy, Head of the Organizing Committee of the second National Press Award "For the cause of developing Culture, Sports and Tourism" signed Decision No. 1375/QD-BTCGBC promulgating the Rules of the second Award.
Recognition of contributions
The Second National Press Award "For the cause of developing Culture, Sports and Tourism" (hereinafter referred to as the Award) is organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to select and award the author or group of authors with outstanding press works on culture, family, sports and tourism published and broadcast by central and local press agencies within the prescribed time; award the award to the typical press agency with many winning works.
The award aims to recognize and honor the outstanding contributions of collectives and individuals of the press team to the development of culture, sports and tourism.
Through the Award, we aim to inform and introduce the results and achievements of culture, sports and tourism. At the same time, we discover typical and advanced examples in the culture, sports and tourism sector; encourage and motivate cadres in the whole sector to join hands and continue to contribute more to the cause of developing culture, sports and tourism.
Create conditions for journalists to exchange professional and technical experiences, contributing to improving the quality and effectiveness of information and press activities in the fields of culture, family, sports and tourism.
According to the Rules, the subjects submitting articles to the Award are authors who are Vietnamese citizens in the country and abroad with press works written on the fields of culture, family, sports and tourism published and broadcast on licensed press agencies (printed newspapers, electronic newspapers, radio newspapers, television newspapers, photo newspapers) within the prescribed time; authors who are foreigners with press works (written in Vietnamese) in accordance with the provisions of the Award Rules.
What's new
Regarding the content of the entries, the second Prize has many new points. Accordingly, the Prize is selected and awarded to authors or groups of authors, excellent journalistic works, reflecting on real people, real events (not fictional), with the ability to discover, accurately and promptly reflect on groups, individuals, positive actions, typical advances, criticizing bad habits and vices in society... with one of the following key contents:
Implementing the documents of the 13th National Party Congress into life; realizing the Directives and Resolutions of the Central Committee and Party Committees at all levels; the role and importance of culture in the cause of socio-economic development of the country.
Current status of mechanisms and policies in the fields of culture, family, sports, tourism and solutions for improvement.
Point out difficulties, obstacles and shortcomings, thereby proposing innovative solutions to improve effectiveness and efficiency in consulting, state management and organizing activities to develop culture, sports and tourism from the central to local levels.
New models, good practices, typical collective and individual examples, advanced examples in implementing policies and guidelines on cultural and human development such as: Conclusion No. 76-KL/TW of the Politburo on continuing to implement Resolution No. 33-NQ/TW of the 11th Party Central Committee on building and developing Vietnamese culture and people to meet the requirements of sustainable national development; Conclusion No. 01-KL/TW dated May 18, 2021 of the Politburo on continuing to implement Directive No. 05-CT/TW dated May 15, 2016 of the Politburo on promoting the study and following of Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and lifestyle; Directive No. 06-CT/TW dated June 24, 2021 of the Secretariat on strengthening the Party's leadership in family building in the new situation.
Cultural development strategy to 2030; Conclusion of the General Secretary at the National Cultural Conference in 2021; Message of the General Secretary to the Culture, Sports and Tourism sector at the Conference to commend typical advanced models in the national cultural field in 2023; Conclusion No. 70-KL/TW dated January 31, 2024 of the Politburo on physical training and sports development in the new period; Directive No. 08/CT-TTg dated February 23, 2024 of the Prime Minister on comprehensive, rapid and sustainable tourism development in the coming time; direction of the Prime Minister at the National Conference of Cultural Industries.
Building Vietnamese people in the period of innovation, development and integration with appropriate standard values, associated with preserving and promoting Vietnamese family values, cultural values, and national values; skillfully combining traditional values with modern values.

Comprehensive and synchronous development of cultural fields, cultural environment, cultural life: Preserving and promoting traditional cultural values, absorbing the quintessence of human culture, propagating, promoting, and spreading Vietnamese cultural values to friends and the international community through Vietnamese cultural events organized abroad; at the same time, improving the quality and effectiveness of creating new cultural values. Building a healthy and civilized cultural environment associated with the uncompromising fight against evil, badness, unculture, and counterculture.
Improve the cultural life of the people; build a joyful, healthy and happy cultural life; overcome the gap in development level and cultural enjoyment between regions of the country. Building a healthy cultural environment on cyberspace, arousing a sense of responsibility and national pride to gradually eliminate negative manifestations, prevent and repel "deviation" phenomena, and guide people towards truth, goodness and beauty.
Work on building and perfecting institutions, mechanisms and policies in the direction of "creating" and "unleashing" resources for developing culture, sports and tourism.
Regarding the press genres considered for the Award: These are press works of reflection articles, reports, investigations, documentaries, memoirs, talk shows (except live radio and television programs)... promoting culture, family, sports and tourism published and broadcast for the first time on the following types of press: Print newspapers, electronic newspapers, radio, television, photo newspapers from July 1, 2023 to June 15, 2024.
