On the evening of August 30, in the program "Legendary Night" held at Ben Thanh Theater, People's Artist Le Thuy and People's Artist Minh Vuong along with other stage stars received enthusiastic cheers from the audience. In particular, with the excerpt "Autumn on Bach Ma Mountain", she and People's Artist Minh Vuong received much sympathy from the audience. Both artists always strive to do well in their roles, even though they are all in their 80s.
The golden generation artists present in the program such as: Le Thuy, Minh Vuong, Ngoc Giau, Bao Quoc, Trong Huu, Chi Tam, Thoai Mieu, Hoai Thanh, Do Quyen and the later generation artists such as: Chau Thanh, Thanh Hang, Phuong Hang, Phuong Loan, Linh Tam, Thoai My, Trong Phuc, Kim Tu Long, Ngan Tuan, Tu Suong, Vo Minh Lam... brought the audience many emotions when re-enacting the famous excerpts of the past: "Rang Ngoc Con Son", "Han Mac Tu", "To Anh Nguyet", "Nguoi Tinh Tren Chien Tran"...
In the early 1960s, those who had a good voice and sang vọng cổ well had a high chance of becoming leading actors and actresses because audiences in those years loved to listen to vọng cổ. Artists such as Minh Vuong, Minh Canh, My Chau, Thanh Kim Hue and Le Thuy, thanks to their good voices and special talent for vọng cổ singing, made their stage careers.
Having just appeared on stage with only a few times singing vọng cổ, the voice of People's Artist Lê Thủy was recognized by people in the industry as having a new characteristic among the vọng cổ sounds of the time. Thanks to that, she was immediately invited by vinyl record companies to record vọng cổ and soon became famous with the ancient songs recorded on disc: Cooking cakes in spring night, Lương Sơn Bá- Chúc Anh Đài, Cô hàng chè mới...
At that time, People's Artist Le Thuy's voice was praised by experts for its unique, rich, expressive, and metallic-earthy tone. Some people simply said that her voice was like a ringing bell. Others said that her singing sounded pleasant, cool, and clear like a bright moonlit night in the blue sky, or that it felt as pleasant as a cool breeze on the river.
Theater journalists at that time described artist Le Thuy's voice as sweet but simple and honest, so she was very popular. Audiences loved artist Le Thuy because in her simple and lyrical style, there was elegance, sincerity, and deep emotions that easily touched people's hearts.
Not only was she outstanding in singing and soon became famous in the field of recording for vinyl records and radio stations in the 1950s and 1960s, People's Artist Le Thuy also proved her acting talent with the Thanh Tam Award Gold Medal (1964) just three years after she entered the Cai Luong stage (Tram Vang troupe). Also in 1964, People's Artist Minh Vuong was awarded the Khoi Nguyen vong co award.
