Born and raised in My Lung commune, Yen Lap district, Muong ethnic young man Nguyen Duy Nhat has long cherished the dream of getting rich in his homeland. After a period of "conceiving" the idea of starting a business, in 2023, Mr. Nhat established the My Lung Organic Agriculture Cooperative (HTX) associated with community tourism with 7 members in Zone 1, My Lung commune, Yen Lap district. Currently, his cooperative has been operating stably, attracting many tourists to visit and experience.
Khe Thac community tourism site of My Lung Organic Agriculture Cooperative associated with community tourism has beautiful scenery, fresh and airy air.
Nestled in the vast space of mountains and forests, Khe Thac community tourism site in Zone 1, My Lung Commune, Yen Lap District of Mr. Nguyen Duy Nhat appears simple and rustic in the sound of flowing water from clear streams. In the chilly weather of Autumn, Mr. Nhat quickly made tea to welcome guests and shared: Before getting involved in community tourism, I used to do many different jobs. After visiting many localities across the country, I realized that my hometown has a lot of tourism potential, especially developing tourism in the direction of connecting the community and promoting unique cultural identity to attract domestic and foreign tourists.
So that visitors can listen to the sounds of the mountains and forests and feel the feeling of relaxation and peace, he built tents serving food right next to Khe Thac stream. After visiting and experiencing swimming in the stream, visitors can enjoy rustic, simple but delicious specialties with many attractive dishes of the Muong people such as: stream fish, sour meat, grilled pork, goat meat...
Mr. Nhat has also coordinated with units to organize tours and tourist routes to beautiful places in the province, and actively posted video clips and images of community tourism spots on social networking platforms. The video clips and images created by Mr. Nhat are professional, modern, with rich content, attracting a lot of views and shares, thereby increasing the number of visitors to visit and experience the community tourism spot. Especially during the past summer, the spot welcomed an average of 10-15 groups of visitors each week.
In the coming time, Mr. Nhat will collect traditional items of the Muong ethnic group such as: looms, mortars, water wheels... to display for visitors; organize traditional cultural activities to enhance the experience, retain visitors and sell more local OCOP products such as Ga Gay sticky rice, ant egg cakes, Ga Gay sticky rice wine, Thao Xuan fermented leaf wine...
Mr. Nguyen Duy Nhat invested in modern machinery and equipment to promote the image of Khe Thac community tourism site.
Comrade Khuc Duy Hai - Secretary of the Youth Union of My Lung commune said: Developing community tourism in My Lung commune is part of the project to restore, preserve and promote some typical cultural heritages of the Muong ethnic group in Yen Lap district. The economic development model from organic agriculture associated with community tourism of Mr. Nhat is one of the typical models of ethnic minority youth in establishing themselves and starting a business, contributing to the socio-economic development of the locality.
In addition to community tourism, Mr. Nhat also built a farm to raise 130 commercial goats and grow forestry and medicinal plants on an area of over 35 hectares, of which over 30 hectares are used to grow forestry trees such as: Acacia, Bodhi, cinnamon... and nearly 5 hectares are used to grow precious medicinal plants of the Muong people such as: White Royal Poinciana, Black-Arnica, Velvet-Arnica, Ophiopogon japonicus... To help precious medicinal plants absorb nutrients best, Mr. Nhat always ensures the requirements for water, temperature, light and soil looseness, while focusing on fertilizing and spraying pesticides periodically. Each precious medicinal plant variety has different medicinal and healing uses, so it is favored by traders in and outside the province. Most of Mr. Nhat's medicinal plant products are purchased as soon as they are harvested. The total monthly revenue of the cooperative reaches 70-80 million VND.
The initial positive signals from the cooperative have given Mr. Nhat more strength in the direction of developing community tourism associated with preserving and promoting the beautiful indigenous cultural identity. At the same time, it spreads the spirit of daring to think and daring to do of the youth so that the youth union members can learn together, join hands to reduce poverty sustainably, and build an increasingly rich and beautiful homeland.
