Opening of the 4th Dak Lak Province Book and Reading Culture Day in 2025

On April 17, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Dak Lak province coordinated with the Department of Education and Training, relevant agencies and units to organize the opening ceremony of the 4th Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day in 2025 in the province.

In his opening speech, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Dak Lak province Tran Hong Tien said that in recent years, with the attention of all levels, sectors and the whole society, the reading movement in Dak Lak province has increasingly spread strongly, especially among teenagers and students. Libraries, community bookcases and open reading spaces are increasingly invested in and developed, creating favorable conditions for everyone to access knowledge. Currently, the province's reading service system has 1 provincial library, 13 district libraries and 35 communal libraries and reading rooms along with a system of school libraries in the area. The total number of documents is more than 202,967 copies, with 68,300 book titles. In addition to traditional printed documents, the province's electronic document resources have more than 6,500 documents serving readers via the Internet, over 54,300 copies of books in the mobile bookstore, especially more than 23,528 copies of books for children. Every year, the province builds, supplements, and updates 2,000 - 3,000 new books to the bookstores, 300 - 350 electronic documents, 100 types of newspapers and magazines, thereby contributing to serving well the needs of learning, learning, researching, and enjoying reading culture of the people, especially students...

Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Dak Lak province Tran Hong Tien delivered the opening speech.

This year's Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day was organized by Dak Lak province with many rich and practical activities such as: displaying books by topic; organizing forums, discussion programs, introducing books, exchanging works and authors; organizing mobile library vehicles and experiencing activities with books; displaying, introducing and releasing publications, cultural products, cultural items; displaying paintings, art photos; displaying STEM products; experiencing creative thinking; applying 4.0 technology to look up and read books; thinking wooden playground; mobile library vehicles and experiencing activities with books... Accompanying the festival, there were 20 agencies, units and enterprises organizing activities, donating bookcases to schools in the province with a total cost of nearly 130 million VND.

The program's organizing committee presented flowers to thank the accompanying units.

The series of activities to respond to and organize Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day in the province will focus from April 15 to May 2, 2025, with the messages: "Reading culture - Connecting the community"; "Entering the era of national growth with books"; "Reading books - enriching knowledge, nurturing aspirations, promoting innovation and creativity". Through activities to affirm the position, role and importance of books in improving knowledge, skills, developing thinking, educating and training human personality; encouraging and developing the reading movement in the community, contributing to building a learning society.

On this occasion, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Dak Lak province coordinated with the Department of Education and Training and the Provincial Youth Union to launch the Dak Lak Provincial Reading Culture Ambassador Contest 2025 for students living and studying in the area.
