The Earth Hour campaign sends a message to the community not only to save electricity, save energy and protect the environment in just one hour, but to make it a regular habit throughout 365 days of the year.
The 60 minutes of Earth Hour 2024 will start from 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on March 23.
Earth Hour is an initiative of the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) to raise public awareness about energy saving, environmental protection and climate change worldwide. Earth Hour is launched annually on the last Saturday of March.
This is the 16th year that the Earth Hour Campaign has been implemented in Vietnam in general and in Thanh Hoa province in particular. Earth Hour 2024 carries the message "Saving electricity - make it a habit". The program was launched with the desire to "Reduce carbon footprint - Towards Net Zero" which means reducing emissions. This is one of the important factors to realize the goal of net zero emissions, or Net Zero, by 2050; it is the foundation to respond to the challenges of climate change globally.

It is known that since the "Earth Hour" campaign was launched, Thanh Hoa province has been one of the pioneering localities responding to this movement, contributing to creating positive changes in people's awareness and actions on energy saving and environmental protection. During Earth Hour 2023 alone, Thanh Hoa province has reduced 34,113 kWh.
