At the Conference, delegates listened to a report on the results of the District-level Ethnic Minority Congress and preparations for the 4th Provincial Ethnic Minority Congress in 2024, presented by Head of the Provincial Ethnic Minority Committee Mai Xuan Binh - Deputy Head of the Congress Steering Committee.
In order to effectively carry out the work of congresses at all levels, the People's Committee of Thanh Hoa province issued Plan No. 235/KH-UBND dated September 28, 2023 on organizing the 4th Congress of Ethnic Minorities at all levels of Thanh Hoa province - 2024; Decision No. 4419/QD-UBND dated November 23, 2023 on establishing the Steering Committee for the 4th Congress of Ethnic Minorities at all levels of Thanh Hoa province - 2024. From April 23, 2024 to June 29, 2024, 13/13 districts completed the district-level congress, with 1,611 delegates officially summoned to participate. There are 4 districts and towns: Yen Dinh, Vinh Loc, Ha Trung and Nghi Son town that did not organize the congress but completed the selection of delegates to participate in the provincial congress.
Through the organization of the congress, it attracted the attention and participation of a large number of people, creating an exciting, enthusiastic atmosphere, and the consensus and support of ethnic minorities in the mountainous areas of the province.
After the District Congress, the total number of official delegates selected to attend the Provincial Congress of 17 districts and towns was 183 delegates. The total number of official delegates attending the Provincial Congress was 249 delegates. The delegates are typical, advanced examples, outstanding and outstanding people in the patriotic emulation movement, actively developing family economy, sustainable poverty reduction, building new rural areas; always completing assigned tasks well, exemplary in implementing the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws...
The preparations for the Provincial Congress have been actively prepared by the sub-committees and the Congress Steering Committee; drafting the Political Report of the Congress, the Preparatory Congress Program, and the Official Congress Program. The Propaganda and Celebration Sub-committee is actively coordinating with the consulting unit to design propaganda panels and decorate the celebration inside and outside the hall. Visual propaganda work along the main roads of Thanh Hoa City and propaganda on mass media are being carried out. The sub-committees have planned the logistics, service, security - order, and rewards at the Congress to ensure the safety and success of the Congress.
The Provincial Congress is expected to be held at the 25B Conference Center (Thanh Hoa City) on November 22-23, 2024. The official Congress program will be broadcast live on Thanh Hoa Radio and Television; the typical advanced exchange session among ethnic minorities will be broadcast live (the night before the official Congress).
The Congress will honor, commend and reward outstanding collectives and individuals among ethnic minorities in the cause of building, integrating, developing and protecting the country in the period of 2019 - 2024; evaluate the results of implementing ethnic work, ethnic policies, infrastructure development, hunger eradication and poverty reduction, and new rural construction in the period of 2019 - 2024...
At the Conference, delegates and members of the Steering Committee discussed the contents, tasks, and progress of the preparation and service of the Congress; the time of the Congress; the number and composition of the Presidium and Secretary; the content and program of the Congress; the selection of delegates to speak at the Congress, and exchanges of advanced models...
Concluding the Conference, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Dau Thanh Tung - Head of the Congress Steering Committee highly appreciated the preparation work of the Congress by the sub-committees of the steering committee, the standing agency - the Provincial Ethnic Committee. He requested the sub-committees and members of the Steering Committee to complete the plan, actively implement the assigned tasks, and ensure the content and progress of implementation. The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee assigned the Ethnic Committee to complete the detailed plan for the Congress organization program so that the Congress Steering Committee can continue to direct members and subcommittees to implement, and at the same time report to the Provincial People's Committee Party Committee, and ask for the opinion of the Provincial Party Standing Committee to agree on the time to organize the Congress, the program and content of the Congress as soon as possible.
