On the evening of September 9, the 2023 Kite Awards Ceremony with the theme "Brilliant Galaxy" took place in Nha Trang, Khanh Hoa, finding the owners of the awards for the honor categories.
Golden Kite 2023 named "Mother Straw"
In the TV series category, "Mother Straw" by director Nguyen Phuong Dien excellently won the most important award - Golden Kite.
On stage to receive the award, director Nguyen Phuong Dien thanked the actors and crew for overcoming many difficulties to complete the film. He also thanked the audience for their trust and love for the work.

The Silver Kite Award includes the works: "Are you a man" directed by Trinh Le Phong and "Dawn ahead" directed by Bui Tuan Dung.
The Best Actress award went to actress Quynh Nguyen (as Hanh) in the movie "Don't Make Me Angry".
The award for Best Actor went to actor Thai Hoa (playing Mo) in the movie "Mother Straw". However, due to personal reasons, Thai Hoa could not attend and receive the honorable award. Director Nguyen Phuong Dien received the award on behalf of the actor.
"Glorious Ashes" wins big
In the feature film category, the film "Glorious Ashes" by director Bui Thac Chuyen surpassed many competitors such as: "Nha Ba Nu", "Biet Doi Rai Ok", "Hanh Phuc Mau", "Sieu Don Gap Super Muon", "Em va Trinh", "Chi Chi Em Em" 2, "Con Nhót Mot Chong", "Co Gai Tu Xua Khuc"... to win the Golden Kite Award.

Sharing when receiving the prestigious award, director Bui Thac Chuyen said that he was happy that the film had a good life.
"I would like to thank the jury for liking our film. Thank you to my colleagues who made the film together during the difficult period of the Covid-19 pandemic with all their love. Thank you to the audience for loving the film. This is a great encouragement for me and my colleagues here," director Bui Thac Chuyen expressed.
The work "Glorious Ashes" also helped Bui Thac Chuyen receive the Outstanding Director award at the 2023 Kite Awards.
Meanwhile, Meritorious Artist Hanh Thuy was named in the Best Supporting Actress category for her role as Loan. The film also won awards in the Best Cinematography category for Nguyen K'Linh.
Previously, the film won First Prize at the Three Continents Film Festival held in Nantes, France.
The Silver Kite awards the names of two works "Con chot mot chong" by director Vu Ngoc Dang and "Nha ba Nu" by Huynh Tran Thanh.
Thu Trang and Thai Hoa of the movie "Con nhot mot chong" won the awards for Best Actress and Best Actor.
Also in the film category, the Best Actor award went to Thai Hoa for his role as Mr. Xin in the film "Con nhot mot chong". Actor Tien Luat received the trophy on Thai Hoa's behalf.
The two shortlisted nominees for the Best Actress category were Phuong Anh Dao from the movie "Glorious Ashes" and Thu Trang from the movie "The Picked-Up Husband". As a result, Thu Trang won.
On stage receiving the award, Thu Trang emotionally expressed: "Thank you to the organizers, the jury and the crew of the film "Con nhot mot chong" for helping the film become loved by the audience so that today I can stand here and receive this prestigious award."
This year's Kite Awards ceremony is a special event as it marks the 20th anniversary. The event kicked off on September 1st with the Cinema Road activity - screening films at 20 mobile locations around Nha Trang city such as 2/4 Square and Vega City Nha Trang Beach Square.
The big screens will screen this year's Golden Kite award-winning films for free so that locals and tourists can enjoy and get closer.

The highlight of the 2023 Kite Awards Ceremony is the Wall of Fame - a project to honor works and individuals who have won the Kite Awards over the past 20 years and to honor for life those who have made outstanding contributions to the career of Vietnamese Cinema at the Do Theater Square (Vega City Nha Trang).
On the wall there are 433 stars, representing 107 representative works, 297 outstanding individuals, including authors, artists, filmmakers and 29 veteran filmmakers.
This year, the Kite Award includes 157 entries in the following categories: feature films (16 entries), television dramas (17 entries), short films (52 entries), animated films (22 entries), documentaries (34 entries), scientific films (11 entries) and 5 research and critical theory works.
