Thach Ha district has successfully attracted many projects with large investors to the area. This is a boost on the journey of rapid and sustainable development, contributing to making Ha Tinh a province with developed industry.
Driving force for socio-economic development
At the end of August 2023, in Hanoi, under the witness of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and Singaporean Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung handed over the investment policy decision for the Bac Thach Ha Industrial Park (IP) infrastructure construction and business investment project, and approved the investor, Vietnam - Singapore Industrial Park and Urban Development Joint Stock Company (VSIP).
This is one of the four major projects in the country that was granted an investment decision at the Vietnam - Singapore cooperation conference. The project has a total investment capital of nearly 1,600 billion VND (investor's capital contribution is 233.326 billion VND), located in Bac Thach Ha Industrial Park Phase 1 with an area of 190.41 hectares in 2 communes of Thach Lien and Viet Tien. The project's operating period is 50 years.

Receiving this news, the people of Thach Ha in particular and Ha Tinh in general were happy and excited. The project was chosen by a large Singaporean investor, not only bringing new vitality to the local socio-economic development but also opening up many job opportunities for people in the province. Mr. Vo Van Thanh - a resident of Viet Tien commune shared: "We believe that the project will invest in synchronous infrastructure with a safe and effective production environment. From here, it will open up many job opportunities and develop trade and services for local people".

In 2023, Thach Ha district approved 6 investment projects with a total capital of more than 3,633 billion VND. Accordingly, since the beginning of the term, the district has approved investment policies and investors for 25 projects with a total registered capital of more than 5,109.4 billion VND. To date, the district has had 219 investment projects with a total investment of more than 21,679 billion VND.
A delegation of officials from the French Development Agency (AFD) in Vietnam inspected the implementation of an AFD-funded project in Thach Ha district.
In addition, the district is currently promoting and giving opinions on investment calling plans for projects: Tan Lam Huong Industrial Cluster, Southwest Industrial Park of Ha Tinh City. At the same time, continuing to attract investment, filling up the land use area for Phu Viet Industrial Cluster in Viet Tien Commune; looking for businesses to learn about and propose investment plans at Thach Khe Industrial Cluster. In addition, with the implementation of the Thach Ha Urban Sub-project within the project "Improving urban infrastructure to respond to climate change in 4 coastal provinces of North Central Vietnam", the total investment of 32.464 million Euros funded by the French Development Agency (AFD) is being effectively implemented, further affirming Thach Ha's efforts in attracting investment.

Surrounding Ha Tinh city, Thach Ha district has many advantages in terms of transportation, land, geographical location... with a natural area of 35,391 hectares; diverse terrain, including plains, hills, forests and sea, planned into 3 distinct regions: plains (Bac Ha), semi-mountainous land (Southwest), coastal (beach); convenient transportation system with 73.1 km of national highway running through, 61.3 km of district roads, 57.33 km of inter-commune roads, along with about 18.27 km of main routes and 8.62 km of branch routes of the North-South expressway in the East under construction.

According to the Provincial Planning for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, Thach Ha develops 3 regions: the Bac Ha region plans "Industrial park and urban area, VSIP service" and Phu Viet Industrial Park; the Southwest region plans "Commercial - service - tourism and sports area in the Southwest of Thach Ha district" and the Industrial Park in the West of Ha Tinh city, Tan Lam Huong Industrial Park; the coastal region plans Van Tri coastal tourism area, Thach Hoi coastal tourism area and Thach Khe industrial park.
The district has many historical and cultural relics with 110 ranked relics (7 national historical relics) and many famous scenic spots. Thach Ha also has a system of pristine beaches with a length of more than 20 km with many beautiful beaches (Thach Hai, Thach Hoi, Thach Tri, Thach Van). These characteristics and advantages bring Thach Ha a lot of potential for socio-economic development associated with trade - service - tourism development.
