Việt NamViệt Nam03/02/2025

Tree planting festival has become a beautiful traditional feature of the Vietnamese people, starting the annual tree planting and afforestation work of all levels, sectors and localities. The tree planting and afforestation movement has been actively responded to by the Party committees, authorities and people of all ethnic groups in Ba Che district.

Tree Planting Festival 2025
The 2025 District Tree Planting Festival was held at the Sustainable Forest Development Joint Stock Company (Khe Put village, Thanh Son commune).

In order to contribute to the successful implementation of the Prime Minister's Project on planting 1 billion trees in the period of 2021-2025 and the Resolution of the 25th District Party Congress, term 2020-2025, with the orientation that by 2025 Ba Che district will become the center of forestry economy and medicinal plants of Quang Ninh province; together with localities in the whole province, Ba Che district organized the launching ceremony of "Tree Planting Festival" in 2025 with more than 16 hectares of forest spread over 7 communes covered with trees such as green giổi, green lim and flower lat; tree varieties suitable for soil and climate and expected to improve the lives of ethnic minorities in mountainous areas in the long term.

According to Mr. Vi Thanh Vinh, Head of the District Agriculture Department; Ba Che currently has more than 36,000 hectares of planted forests, of which the district has planted nearly 1,000 hectares of lim, lat, and gioi. With the determination to build the district into a forestry economic center, based on the harmonious combination of socio-economic development associated with environmental protection, in 2025, the district set a target of planting 5,000 hectares of new forests to restore the forest area damaged by storm No. 3; including more than 100 hectares of large timber forests; maintaining forest cover at 80%.

Provincial and local leaders participated in planting 16 hectares of forest in 7 communes.

Promoting the fine tradition of "Tet tree planting to forever remember Uncle Ho", for many years, Ba Che district has always identified tree planting as an important task, closely linked to the comprehensive development process of the province, not only for today but also for future generations. At the same time, identifying the particularly important role and position of the forestry sector, along with planting new large timber trees, Ba Che district also focuses on propagating to the people to do a good job of forest protection and development, contributing to the effective implementation of thematic Resolution No. 19-NQ/TU "On sustainable forestry development to 2025, vision to 2030" as well as Resolution No. 337/2021/NQ-HDND of the Provincial People's Council "On stipulating a number of specific policies to encourage sustainable forestry development in Quang Ninh province"; thereby contributing to realizing the green development goal of the province. Along with that, the district also focuses on implementing many projects and programs to coordinate land allocation and forest allocation to work with people to implement the policy of planting large perennial trees, greening the eastern region of the province.

In 2025, due to the impact of Typhoon Yagi, more than 18,000 hectares of forest in the district were affected, with an estimated loss of about 740 billion VND. Not only to have more trees, develop natural resources, and contribute to greening hills after the storm, "Tree Planting Festival" in Ba Che has a particularly important meaning for protecting and improving the living environment, especially in the face of the fact that Vietnam is one of the countries most severely affected by climate change.

In 2025, the district set a target of planting 5,000 hectares of new forest to restore the forest area damaged by storm No. 3, including over 100 hectares of large timber forest.

Over the past 60 years, following Uncle Ho's teachings, Tet Tree Planting has become a widespread mass movement, a cultural beauty of the Vietnamese people in general, and the ethnic people of Ba Che district in particular. Thereby, it propagates and educates awareness of protecting and developing forest capital, contributing to environmental improvement, responding to climate change, creating a sustainable green economy. In the days when the earth and sky are still immersed in the colors of spring, the immense green of the forest trees stretching across the mountain slopes seems to add green to life; so that everyone, every household can join hands to build many green dreams.
