Kinhtedothi - According to the Hanoi Department of Tourism, although the 2025 New Year holiday is only 1 day, the capital's tourism industry has welcomed 160,000 visitors, an increase of 17% over the same period last year.
Of which, international tourists reached 28.4 thousand arrivals, up 67%; Domestic tourists reached 132,000 arrivals, up 10%. The high number of visitors resulted in total revenue from tourists during the 2025 New Year holiday reaching 594 billion VND, up 26% over the same period last year.
Also during the 2025 New Year holiday, the average room occupancy rate of 4-5 star hotels and tourist apartments reached about 80%. Of which, some apartment and hotel complexes achieved quite high room occupancy rates such as: InterContinental Hanoi Westlake Hotel 100%; Lacasa Hotel 100%, Lotte Hotel 94%, Hilton Garden Inn Hanoi Hotel 90%, Movenpick Hotel 90%, Pullman Hotel 90%, etc.
During the holiday, many tourist attractions in Hanoi have launched many new tourism programs and products as well as organized attractive activities and events to stimulate demand and attract tourists to visit and experience.
Specifically, the program "Welcome New Year 2025" (Countdown program) with the sound and light party to welcome the new year "Herbalife Countdown Party 2025 - Live the moment" at Dong Kinh Nghia Thuc Square; The "Trust The Moment" music festival at August Revolution Square and The Glamorous Countdown 2025 Hanoi takes place at Vinhomes Ocean Park 2.
Also on this occasion, the walking street space around Hoan Kiem Lake and its vicinity is allowed to operate from 7:00 p.m. on December 31, 2024 to midnight on January 1, 2025 (Wednesday), along with traditional art performances to serve people and tourists maintained in this space.
