Join hands to support housing for women members

In order to carry out the campaign to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses for poor and near-poor households and support families of meritorious people facing housing difficulties and dilapidated houses that need to be repaired or rebuilt in 2025, the Women's Union at all levels mobilized cadres and members to participate in donating funds, working days, materials, supplies, etc. to support difficult housing situations in the area.

In the newly renovated, clean house, Mrs. Ngo Thi Hoa (70 years old, Cam Ne village, Hoa Tien commune, Hoa Vang district) could not hide her joy. Previously, she lived alone in an old house that was not safe, so recently, the Women's Union of Hoa Tien commune mobilized support of 30 million VND to repair her house with the motto "whoever has money contributes money, whoever has work contributes work". During the repair period, local women's union members divided up to support the labor. Thanks to that, the house repair time was accelerated.

Recently, the City Women's Union started to build a new house for the family of Ms. Vo Thi Hien, Nam Son village, Hoa Tien commune. Ms. Hien is a single woman member, in difficult circumstances, she and her child have lived in a temporary house for many years, life is difficult, there are no conditions to repair or build a new house. The City Women's Union supported Ms. Hien and her child with 80 million VND to build a new house, and the women's unions at the grassroots level supported additional working days during the construction process. On the groundbreaking day, Ms. Hien expressed her happiness and gratitude for the support and help from the authorities and unions at all levels, soon she and her child will have a new, more spacious and solid house.

According to the Chairwoman of the Women's Union of Hoa Tien Commune, Le Thi Hong Hai, on this occasion, the commune implemented the construction and repair of 40 houses for families in difficult circumstances. Cadres and women's union members in the commune actively participated in the response, supporting 10 million VND in cash to the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the commune and registered to support 200 working days by doing specific tasks such as helping households transport debris, cleaning, collecting garbage, broken bricks, cooking... In addition to supporting working days, union members also called for support of raw materials and essential items.

Recently, in Hoa Khuong commune, many houses have been repaired and rebuilt by associations, organizations, individuals, and philanthropists. The Women's Union of Hoa Khuong commune said that recently, the Women's Union of Phu Son 1 and Phu Son 2 villages mobilized female cadres and members to participate in 20 working days to support the families of female union members Dinh Thi Thu (Phu Son 2 village) and Dang Thi Hoa (Phu Son 1 village) to repair their dilapidated houses.

Hoa Phong commune has 47 poor, near-poor and social households that need support to eliminate temporary houses. When Hoa Phong commune launched the program to join hands to support the construction and elimination of temporary and leaky houses, many units and organizations registered for the "Day of Compassion", in which the Women's Union of the commune participated in supporting the construction of 2 new houses and contributed 80 working days...

On this occasion, the Hai Chau District Women's Union also supported the families of its members in difficult circumstances. According to Vice President of the Hai Chau District Women's Union Phung Thi Ai Nhan, the district's women's unions at all levels provided support and house repairs to 3 households in 3 wards of Hai Chau, Thuan Phuoc and Binh Thuan, each household receiving 20 million VND. The funding for the support came from the savings of female union officials and members in the district. In addition to financial support, union members at all levels also participated in supporting working days, helping families in cleaning up furniture, dismantling to speed up construction progress, reducing costs during the construction and repair process.

Chairwoman of the City Women's Union Hoang Thi Thu Huong said that in 2025, the City Women's Union launched a competition to achieve achievements to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the liberation of Da Nang city and major holidays of the year, including the target of supporting the construction and repair of 10 shelters for members and women facing housing difficulties and dilapidated houses. "The temporary house removal program has spread a profound humanitarian spirit in social security work. The contributions of all levels of the union, of cadres and women's union members not only bring solid homes, but also demonstrate the spirit of mutual love, sharing, solidarity, and consensus for a sustainable society," Ms. Huong expressed.
