Ship caught fire at night at Sa Huynh fishing port

(Dan Tri) - Ship QNg 44072TS was anchored at Sa Huynh fishing port, Duc Pho town, Quang Ngai province when it suddenly caught fire at night.


On December 3, the People's Committee of Duc Pho town said that a fishing boat fire had just occurred in the area, causing damage to fishermen's property.

At around 9pm on December 2, Sa Huynh fishing port staff discovered the QNg 44072TS ship on fire. The fire raged fiercely in the ship's cabin.

Discovering the incident, people living near the fishing port joined in fighting the fire and rescuing the ship, and at the same time reported the incident to the authorities.

Upon receiving the news, Sa Huynh Border Guard Station mobilized officers and soldiers to join in fighting the fire and preventing it from spreading to ships anchored nearby.

Firefighters and local people moved many fishing tools on the QNg 44072TS boat to reduce damage to the boat owner.

After about an hour, the fire was extinguished but the ship's cabin was severely damaged. The fire did not cause any casualties. The estimated property damage caused by the fire was about 100 million VND.

Authorities are investigating the cause of the fire.

Fishing boat QNg 44072TS, 13.5m long, 70CV capacity, owned by Mr. Nguyen Van Biet (55 years old, Duc Pho town). On the afternoon of December 2, the boat returned to port to sell fish, and caught fire at night.
