Focus on taking care of the welfare of union members and workers

Since the beginning of 2024, trade unions at all levels have proactively signed cooperation agreements on welfare programs to bring practical benefits to union members and workers with a total estimated cost of billions of VND.

Taking care of the welfare of union members and workers is one of the important contents of the Trade Union organization, aiming to encourage and protect the rights of workers. Typically, in Phu Yen province, in 2024, the Provincial Labor Federation (LDB) organized visits and presented gifts to nearly 1,000 union members, workers, and fishermen in difficult circumstances and with serious illnesses with a total amount of nearly 750 million VND. Of which, the Tet Sum Vay program was organized, presenting 671 gifts, worth 548 million VND; visiting 62 policy families, families in difficult circumstances... Up to now, after the Tet Sum Vay seasons, the Trade Unions at all levels have left a special mark in the hearts of union members every Tet holiday.

Mr. Dang Ngoc Anh - Chairman of Phu Yen Labor Federation said that during the Lunar New Year 2025, the Labor Union will focus on activities that bring specific and practical benefits to each union member, according to the specific plan set out. Following the Union Tet seasons, in the plan to take care of union members and workers on the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2025, Phu Yen Labor Federation sets out the motto "All union members and workers have a happy, meaningful, warm and united Tet". The goal set by Phu Yen Labor Union is to have more than 4,000 union members and workers in difficult circumstances truly cared for to make Tet together.

In Thua Thien Hue province, the Trade Unions at all levels in the province have promoted activities to ensure the welfare of workers. Ms. Tran Thi Minh Nguyet - Permanent Vice President of the Thua Thien Hue Provincial Federation of Labor said that the units that the Trade Union has signed contracts with are companies specializing in the production and trading of essential goods such as food, school supplies, etc. Therefore, having discount coupons will be very beneficial for union members and workers. Currently, the Thua Thien Hue Provincial Federation of Labor is also signing contracts with many partners to implement welfare programs for union members and workers with a total estimated budget of billions of VND. At the same time, the Provincial Federation of Labor and Trade Unions at all levels will continue to mobilize and coordinate to sign contracts with new partners to enhance welfare for union members and workers, especially at the end of the year and Tet.

Also promoting activities to care for the welfare of union members and workers, after more than 2 years of implementing the collective labor agreement, workers in Quang Tri province have been paid salaries, participated in social insurance, health insurance, and unemployment insurance more fully. In particular, employers have supported 100% of tuition fees for workers to participate in vocational and professional training courses; supported workers who had work-related accidents. Many welfare policies to support workers on holidays, Tet, etc. have been implemented. From there, creating excitement for workers to enthusiastically compete in production and business, contributing to increasing labor productivity. At the same time, limiting the movement and competition of labor between businesses in the same industry, contributing to helping businesses develop more and more.

To ensure the welfare of workers, under the direction of the President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Nguyen Dinh Khang, trade unions at all levels proactively develop plans to organize activities to care for union members and workers on the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2025 to ensure practicality, effectiveness, and bring the most welfare to union members and workers. In addition, trade unions at all levels promote the implementation of the Resolution of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor on "Focusing resources to care for the welfare of union members and workers in the new situation".
