The fact that Apple (USA) technology corporation continuously adds new features to the iOS 18 operating system causes engineers to work overload, slowing down the development progress of iOS 19.

According to technology experts, iOS 18 is a large-scale update in Apple's history with many major changes, not only in the initial release but also in later versions 18.1 and 18.2.

Apple traditionally announces new software features at its annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in June, then releases the full software update in September alongside new iPhone models. But Apple's gradual rollout of iOS 18's Apple Intelligence (AI) features means iPhone users will have to wait a long time to experience many of the iOS 19 features that the company plans to introduce at WWDC 2025.

This situation is likely to lead to a delayed release of iOS 19 and fewer new features than expected. Apple may have to adopt a "split" release strategy for iOS 19, similar to how it did with iOS 18.

Delays in software development are common, both for individual software projects and for regular updates like operating systems. Some features may be skipped or pushed to the next version.

One worrying scenario is that iOS 19 could lack new features, making the update less appealing to fans of the Apple ecosystem. But users are used to features being added after launch, so this may not be an issue for Apple.

Meanwhile, there are also enthusiastic opinions about the above information. Dividing the updates into small ones makes it easier for users to access and get used to the new features. Each update brings new and exciting experiences to iPhone users.

Currently, there is not enough data to compare iOS 19 and iOS 18, but developments show the difficulties of "Apple" in the process of developing the new operating system.

Apple recently released iOS 18.2, introducing several new Apple Intelligence features that the tech giant has been touting since September 2024 when it launched the iPhone 16 smartphone models.

iOS 18.2 is the final update of 2024, with iOS 18.3 and iOS 18.4 expected to bring screen recognition to Siri, more granular per-app controls, and other improvements.
