Strengthening digital infrastructure and innovation, digital applications to develop digital economy

Attending the workshop were comrade Le Anh Tuan, Deputy Director of the Department of Digital Economy and Digital Society, Ministry of Information and Communications; representatives of leaders of provincial departments, branches and sectors; People's Committees of districts and cities; digital technology enterprises, postal and telecommunications enterprises in and outside the province; individuals, organizations and enterprises in the province that are typical in implementing e-commerce activities, promoting and introducing products on social networking sites; media agencies; members of the Working Group assisting the Provincial Steering Committee for Digital Transformation; delegates of the Steering Committee for Digital Transformation of districts and cities; leaders of the People's Committees of communes, wards and towns with outstanding achievements in digital transformation activities in 2023; representatives of community digital technology groups, and outstanding youth in digital transformation activities in the province.

The workshop is an opportunity to review the achievements of Tuyen Quang province in the process of digital transformation, digital infrastructure development, and digital economy according to Resolution No. 48-NQ/TU dated November 15, 2021 of the Provincial Party Executive Committee (term XVII) on Digital transformation of Tuyen Quang province to 2025, with a vision to 2030, and at the same time consult experts and organizations accompanying the province in orienting the plan for digital infrastructure development and digital applications to develop the digital economy in the coming time.

Speaking at the opening of the workshop, comrade Hoang Viet Phuong, member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Deputy Head of the Provincial Standing Committee for Digital Transformation affirmed: Digital transformation is a comprehensive transformation from real space to digital space, allowing all activities to be brought to digital space. To develop the digital economy, there must be digital infrastructure. Digital infrastructure includes hard infrastructure and soft infrastructure. Infrastructure is the foundation for development. The foundation must be sufficient and universal.

To develop the digital economy, the most important thing is to create digital applications, apply digital transformation to industries and fields and popularize those digital applications for each citizen to know and use; help people have equal opportunities to access services, training, knowledge, narrow the development gap and "leave no one behind", thereby accelerating the digital transformation process to take place naturally, opening up new values, bringing clear benefits to society.

Therefore, strengthening digital infrastructure and innovating digital applications to develop the digital economy plays a very important role in the process of digital transformation and socio-economic development of the province.

In 2022, Tuyen Quang province's digital transformation ranked 48/63 provinces and cities, up 10 places compared to 2021 (of which, digital government ranked 47/63, digital economy ranked 54/63 and digital society ranked 19/63). According to data published by the General Statistics Office, the estimated increase in the proportion of digital economy in the GRDP of Tuyen Quang province in 2023 is 6.19% (up 0.17% compared to 2022, up 0.35% compared to 2021). Thus, the province's digital transformation index next year will increase compared to the previous year, but is still at a low level.

Recognizing the role and importance of digital transformation in socio-economic development and the opportunity for Tuyen Quang province to make a breakthrough, Resolution No. 48-NQ/TU dated November 15, 2021 of the Provincial Party Committee (17th term) on digital transformation of Tuyen Quang province by 2025, with a vision to 2030, has set a target that by 2025, the digital economy will account for about 20% and by 2030, the digital economy will account for about 30% of the province's gross domestic product (GRDP); gradually improve Tuyen Quang's ranking on the annual digital transformation index (DTI) assessment; strive to make Tuyen Quang one of the fairly ranked provinces by 2025, and by 2030, be in the leading group in the Northern mountainous region.

At the workshop, delegates listened to presentations on: Solutions to strengthen digital infrastructure and digital applications to promote socio-economic development of the province; The role of Project 06 in serving local socio-economic development; Promoting the pioneering role of union members and youth in participating in creating digital applications locally; Digital applications in developing the local digital economy; Solutions to strengthen the development of digital infrastructure in the province in the coming time.

Within the framework of the Workshop, the Provincial Steering Committee for Digital Transformation invited specialized units under the Ministry of Information and Communications, experts, and businesses to attend and consult on solutions to enhance digital infrastructure and innovate digital applications to develop the province's digital economy; exhibit, introduce, and promote digital platforms, products, and digital technology solutions to serve the government, businesses, and people. This will create a space for exchanging, sharing, and experiencing digital technology solutions and platforms to support state management as well as serve the management, production, and business activities of businesses in the province.
