Detained young man who drove through checkpoint and hit traffic police

On the afternoon of December 31, a leader of Than Uyen District Police (Lai Chau) said that the unit had temporarily detained Phan Hai Quan (born 2004) and Lo Van Quy (born 2005, both from Phuc Than Commune, Than Uyen District, Lai Chau) for the act of "Resisting a person on official duty".

Previously, at around 9:47 p.m. on December 30, the patrol team of the Traffic Police - Order Team, Than Uyen District Police coordinated with Traffic Police Team No. 2, Traffic Police Department, Lai Chau Provincial Police to carry out the task at Km343+500, National Highway 32 (Zone 5, Than Uyen Town).

The task force signaled to stop the motorbike driven by a young man carrying one person. However, the driver did not comply and accelerated straight into the task force on duty.

The collision injured Captain Nguyen Ngoc Kenh, Traffic Police - Public Order Team of Than Uyen District Police. Two young men on the motorbike fell onto the road.

The task force and local people controlled the two subjects and promptly took Captain Nguyen Ngoc Kenh to the Than Uyen District Medical Center for emergency treatment.

At the police station, the two young men confessed that after drinking beer with a group of friends at the lakeside area of ​​Than Uyen town, Quan drove Quy to the beginning of the walking street and then followed Highway 32 towards Phuc Than commune. When the traffic police signaled for the car to stop, Quy told Quan to "drive away".

Quan himself did not have a driver's license and had been drinking alcohol. Fearing a heavy fine, Quan accelerated to escape and injured a traffic police officer.
