20 suspects detained in connection with a brawl that left one person dead in Da Nang

On June 24, Da Nang City Police announced that three more suspects had been arrested in connection with a brawl that left one person dead on Nguyen Tat Thanh Street (Da Nang City) on the evening of May 7, 2024.

The arrested subjects include: Ho Tan Luan (21 years old, residing in Hoa Minh ward, Lien Chieu district); Nguyen Le Thanh Trinh (28 years old) and Truong Viet Quoc Cuong (21 years old), both residing in Tam Thuan ward (Thanh Khe district). All 3 were arrested while hiding in mountainous areas of Tien Phuoc and Bac Tra My districts (Quang Nam province).

According to the investigation, on May 5, Le Vu Hoang Tuoi (29 years old, residing in Binh An commune, Thang Binh district, Quang Nam province) went to a dance hall in Da Nang city to play and had a conflict with Le Minh Long.

On the evening of May 7, Tuoi and more than 10 other people brought many weapons to fight with Long's group.

At 9 p.m. the same day, Tuoi's group met Long's group of about 16 people carrying weapons gathered on Nguyen Tat Thanh Street. After facing each other, the two groups used weapons to "fight".

During the fight, a member of Long's group, PTĐ. (19 years old), ran into an alley on Ha Khe street but was caught up by Tuoi and Nhat and slashed many times in the head, causing D. to lose consciousness.

After committing the crime, Tuoi left the weapon at the scene and fled with the other subjects in a car. PTĐ. was then taken to the emergency room but died at the hospital.

On May 9, the Criminal Police Department of Da Nang City Police coordinated with Long Khanh City Police (Dong Nai Province) to arrest Le Vu Hoang Tuoi, Tran Van Sinh and Huynh Van Minh while they were hiding at a motel in Xuan Thanh Ward, Long Khanh City, Dong Nai Province.

In addition, the Da Nang City Police Investigation Agency has initiated criminal proceedings on the charges of “Murder” and “Disturbing public order”. To date, a total of 20 related subjects have been arrested and surrendered.

Currently, the Criminal Police Department of Da Nang City Police is actively investigating the remaining subjects to strictly handle them according to the provisions of the law.
