Funeral arrangements for the victims of a particularly serious car accident in Nam Dinh that left 7 people dead are being urgently arranged by families.
Accordingly, the bodies of Mr. Nguyen Van Tien (born in 1986, residing in Thanh Oai, Hanoi) and his wife and young child were cremated that same night.
The leader of Giao Thuy Town People's Committee (Giao Thuy District, Nam Dinh) said that this morning, the ashes were brought back to his hometown in Giao Thuy District to hold a funeral according to local customs.
The family of Ms. Nguyen Thi Dung (born in 1964, residing in Ba Dinh district, Hanoi, the driver), including Ms. Dung, her daughter and grandchild, have been brought back to Hanoi. The victims' bodies are currently in the morgue, waiting for relatives from abroad to return to decide on the funeral arrangements.
As reported, at around 3:00 p.m. on January 30, at Km153+500 of National Highway 21 in Nam Van Ward, Nam Dinh City, Ms. Dung was driving a 7-seat car in the direction of Co Le to Nam Dinh City when she lost control, crashed into the guardrail on the side of the road, and plunged into a ditch. The car did not collide with other people or vehicles.
The accident killed 7 people and injured 2.
Initial preliminary information determined that the 7 deceased were: Mrs. Dung; Mr. Nguyen Duc Chinh (born in 1956, Mrs. Dung's husband); Ms. Nguyen Ngoc Anh (born in 1989, Mrs. Dung's daughter); Tran Ngoc Minh Khue (born in 2017, Ms. Ngoc Anh's daughter); Mr. Tien, Ms. Dung (born in 1991); and Nguyen Quang Minh (born in 2023).
Two people were injured, including Ms. Quynh and Diep.
