Australian lobster tails are sold all over the online market, priced from only 350,000 VND/kg

Just by typing in the phrase “Australian lobster tails,” according to Nong Thon Viet, consumers will see a series of posts selling Australian lobster tails at prices ranging from 350,000-390,000 VND/kg.

The low price of Australian lobster tails has surprised many consumers. Mr. Xuan Chien, a wholesaler of imported seafood in Hanoi, said that these lobster tails are all frozen. With frozen products, it is difficult for consumers to know how long the product has been stored and what its quality is.

For Western Australian lobsters, the price for live ones is about 1.6 million VND/kg, each size is one kilo. The fainted lobsters are also sold for about 600,000 VND/kg.

Australian lobsters are considered some of the best lobsters in the world. The tail is the most popular part of the lobster for people to eat because it is the easiest to prepare and is often the meatiest part. Lobster tail meat is tougher than claw meat due to the way and how often the lobster tail is used.

High priced plums are still "sold out"

Many women are hunting for off-season plums to enjoy. According to Nong Thon Viet, traders cannot sell enough of them.

Ms. Quynh - a fruit seller in Son La - said that plums are in season around May and June. At other times of the year, plums are harvested off-season. Previously, Son La people did not know how to cultivate and care for off-season plums, so the quantity they harvested was very small and the price was also pushed up. In recent years, people have learned how to cultivate off-season plums, so the quantity is larger than before and they are delicious and the fruit is big.

Ms. Quynh divides them into different types to sell. Small or unattractive types will have the lowest price of only a few tens of thousands of VND per kilogram. Large, even and beautifully designed fruits will have a price ranging from 100-120 thousand VND/kg. VIP fruits are “huge” sized fruits, only more than 20 fruits per kilogram, and will be sold at the highest price. At this time, VIP fruits are being sold for nearly 200,000 VND/kg.

Airfares are already expensive and continue to increase, making domestic tourism 'impatient'

The high airfare prices since last year are now at risk of becoming more expensive due to the price ceiling increase from March 1. Accordingly, the ceiling price of domestic airfares on most routes will increase by 3.7-6.7% from March 1. Of which, the highest price is up to 4 million VND for flights over 1,280 km, such as Hanoi - Phu Quoc, Hanoi - Ho Chi Minh City, ... an increase of 250,000 VND compared to the current price. When entering the peak summer tourist season, this is a factor that can cause domestic airfares to increase sharply due to the sudden increase in travel demand.

Travel agencies are anxious, waiting for market reaction and worried that domestic tourists will flock to travel abroad again. (See more)
