From October 1-31, at the Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism, daily and weekend activities will take place to introduce the culture and customs of the ethnic groups, along with experiential activities at the Common House of the 54 Vietnamese ethnic groups with the theme: "Sea and islands in the hearts of the people".

With the theme "Sea and islands in the hearts of the people", the highlight of the activities in October is the reenactment of the Hoang Sa soldiers' memorial ceremony of Ly Son island district, Quang Ngai province.
The history of protecting the sovereignty of the two archipelagos of Hoang Sa and Truong Sa of the nation was written with the sweat and blood of many generations of young men from the two villages of An Vinh and An Hai in the Sa Ky estuary and later the two wards of An Vinh and An Hai on Ly Son island. They are truly heroes forever preserved in the consciousness of the people of Quang Ngai today and tomorrow. The deep origin of today's "Hoang Sa soldiers' memorial ceremony" is the ancient "priest's memorial ceremony" of the people of An Vinh village and the clans on Ly Son island to pray for peace for the Hoang Sa soldiers before they set off on their mission.
The Hoang Sa soldiers' memorial ceremony contributes to reflecting the history of protecting Vietnam's territorial sovereignty in the East Sea, especially the sovereignty over the Hoang Sa and Truong Sa archipelagos of the Hoang Sa - Truong Sa soldiers, arousing patriotism, preserving the cultural values of our ancestors, helping to connect the community, educating traditions for generations of descendants of Ly Son, Quang Ngai in particular and Vietnam in general.
The Organizing Committee will also display and exhibit images of the Hoang Sa heroic army in charge of Bac Hai, the Hoang Sa soldiers' memorial ceremony, the beauty of the landscape and people of Quang Ngai; promote tourism products, attracting visitors to the beautiful land of Quang Ngai.
In particular, the event also included activities to exchange and experience the quintessence of traditional Ly Son cuisine and local products of Quang Ngai province. Ly Son cuisine clearly reflects the close relationship between people and the natural environment. In the journey to search for seafood, products, draw maps, and set up sovereignty markers in Hoang Sa island district to conquer nature... the cuisine of the islanders clearly shows the attitude of people towards nature, to ensure the maintenance of life in all circumstances. People have known how to take advantage of the resources from nature and the sea given in communal house ceremonies, ceremonies to worship ancestors, and send prayers for the villagers to have a peaceful life. Some typical dishes are often associated with the Hoang Sa soldier's feast and typical Ly Son cuisine such as cakes, processed seafood...
In addition, the Representative Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity “The Art of Bài Chòi in Central Vietnam” will be introduced to visitors. The content of the lyrics in Bài Chòi art is not only deeply humanistic but also deeply educational, guiding people to standard values of ethics and personality.
Daily and weekend activities of 16 ethnic communities, experiential tourism programs, introduction of cake making and wrapping for tourists, folk games; activities of praying for peace and blessing at spiritual spaces of Khmer pagodas, Cham towers... to introduce the culture, customs and practices of the ethnic groups, along with experiential activities at the Common House of the community of 54 Vietnamese ethnic groups.
On weekends, there will be a folk song and dance program "October Flowers" of the ethnic groups that is being held daily, celebrating the 94th anniversary of Vietnamese Women's Day October 20; a folk song and dance program "Village and Festival" of the ethnic groups of the Central Highlands is a daily activity at the Village; and at the Khmer pagoda space, Buddhist activities such as the Sene Dolta Ceremony and the Kathina Robe Offering Ceremony of the Khmer people will be held.
