Solve for Tomorrow “reaches the finish line” of season 5, bursting with ideas for the community

Surpassing 2,266 innovative technology projects, the two teams of Khom Cau Duc (Hau Giang) and Mindful Medical Brand (Hanoi) were officially crowned champions, receiving the STEM Lab Functional Classroom prize worth 1 billion VND.

Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. organized the final round and awards ceremony of the Solve for Tomorrow 2023 competition to honor young talents with outstanding technological innovation projects that contribute to solving urgent social problems.

After a period of exciting competition, with outstanding ideas, highly applicable product models and convincing presentations, the first prize went to the Khom Cau Duc - Hau Giang team (Thuan An Secondary School, Hau Giang) with the project of researching, designing and manufacturing Agro Robot to monitor, supervise and evaluate the health status of soil in Long My district, Hau Giang province; the Mindful Medical Brand team of Hanoi High School for the Gifted (Amsterdam, Hanoi) with the MediQ project, a smart medical box applying the IOT platform and management software system. In addition, the Organizing Committee also awarded 2 second prizes, 6 third prizes, 10 consolation prizes, 2 voting prizes, and 30 movement prizes to schools and localities with many achievements in the online training round.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Choi Joo Ho, General Director of Samsung Vietnam said: “Young people are a generation with unlimited potential and this is also the generation that can provide solutions to the problems we are facing such as common prosperity for humanity, environmental protection, building a safe society... Therefore, we need to constantly care and support to help the spontaneous ideas of the young generation develop into creative problem-solving skills”.

Solve for Tomorrow 2023 is the first season that Samsung has organized a series of kick-off events in all three regions of the country, with a scale double that of the 2022 season. After more than 6 months of implementation, the program has attracted 2,266 project submissions, along with nearly 150,000 participants in training courses. The competition also made a big splash with a total prize of up to 8 billion VND, in which the STEM Lab prize for the school with the winning team is considered a meaningful breakthrough innovation of Samsung on the journey to promote STEM education in Vietnam.
