On the evening of August 16, at Bien Dong Park, the city's Department of Foreign Affairs coordinated with the Korean Consulate General in Da Nang to organize the opening ceremony of the Vietnam-Korea Festival in Da Nang city in 2024.

In her opening speech, Vice Chairwoman of the Da Nang People's Committee Nguyen Thi Anh Thi, Head of the Festival Organizing Committee, said that the diplomatic relationship between Vietnam and Korea has achieved many important achievements in almost all fields.
Da Nang City is an active locality in building friendly relations and cooperation with Korean localities, organizations and enterprises in the fields of trade, investment, tourism, education, human resource exchange and cultural exchange.
With a dynamically developing economy based on modern digital technology, Korean partners have invested in many large projects in the fields of ICT, high technology, and automation in Da Nang, as well as actively supporting the city to develop the semiconductor, microchip, artificial intelligence, and high-quality service industries.
According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Anh Thi, for many years, Korea has also been the leading international tourist market in Da Nang. Da Nang city residents also love and choose Korea as a tourist destination, to experience studying, working and working.
This year's Vietnam-Korea Festival program is newly invested and enriched with unique cultural exchange activities taking place right at the Festival area such as: Vietnam-Korea food making competition with ingredients imported from Jeju Island; Vietnam-Korea art talent competition - where young people can unleash their creativity.
The festival also has 60 booths introducing information, culture, cuisine and traditional and modern art performances, promising to bring a wonderful experience for those who love Vietnamese and Korean culture. This year's festival attracted the participation of many Korean delegations, showing that activities connecting cooperation, cultural exchange and people-to-people diplomacy are increasingly of interest to both sides.
"I believe that from the results of this Festival, the cooperative relationship between Da Nang city and Korean partners will continuously expand, and the people of the two countries will become increasingly connected," Ms. Nguyen Thi Anh Thi emphasized.
Mr. Kang Boosung, Consul General of Korea in Da Nang city, said that the Festival is an event demonstrating the deep friendship, trust as well as progressive cooperation and exchange between Central Vietnam (Vietnam) and Korea.

Vietnam and South Korea are continuing to make continuous efforts to deepen and develop their bilateral relationship even further. In 2023, bilateral trade turnover between the two countries exceeded 76.1 billion USD, making Vietnam the third largest trading partner of South Korea. South Korea is currently the largest investor in Vietnam with a total accumulated investment capital of 85.9 billion USD.
Along with that, in terms of people-to-people exchange, the number of Korean visitors to Vietnam in 2023 will reach approximately 3.6 million people and the number of Vietnamese people visiting Korea will also increase steadily.
According to Mr. Kang Boosung, the Korean Consulate General in Da Nang will always cooperate closely with the city and strive to expand the scope of cooperation to new areas such as high-tech industrial cooperation, business and university cooperation and firmly consolidate the foundation for mutually beneficial bilateral cooperation in the future.
After the opening ceremony, there were exciting art exchange performances by Korean and Da Nang art troupes.
Vietnam-Korea Festival in Da Nang city takes place until August 18.
