(QNO) - These days, the construction site of the Van Ly bridge project and the access road (connecting Dien Ban - Dai Loc) is always bustling and busy.

Bustling construction site
From the existing western riverbank (Dien Hong commune, Dien Ban town), a temporary bridge has "extended" more than half the width of the riverbed. The contractor, Dat Phuong Group Joint Stock Company, said that the construction unit has completed the temporary bridge, along with a 1,000-ton barge and a 400CV tugboat to serve the underwater construction. On the shore, along the road passing through village 3 of Dien Hong commune, the bridge girder casting platform is gradually taking shape, and in a few days the first girder will be cast.

It was almost dusk, but trucks carrying commercial cement concrete were still continuously going in and out of the construction site on the west bank of the Thu Bon River to meet the progress of building a bridge pier.
Engineer Dao Hong Ngoc - Site Technical Officer of Dat Phuong Group Joint Stock Company shared that the Van Ly Bridge and Access Road project started construction on September 16, 2023. After a short time of completing the procedures for borrowing the public road, the contractor focused on implementing the work on both the west and east banks (Phu Van village, Dien Quang commune, Dien Ban town).

At the construction site, the contractor initially mobilized 5 cranes (load capacity 35 - 60 tons), 1 excavator, 1 roller, 2 concrete pumps. In addition to temporary bridges, barges and tugboats, 2 control stations to ensure safe waterway traffic through the construction area were also set up. Regarding human resources, Dat Phuong Group Joint Stock Company mobilized 8 technical staff; 15 machine operators; 60 skilled workers and many people in the indirect department to the construction site.
After work, they will rest and eat in a well-established and solid camp area. The catering team is also a long-time employee, having worked in logistics for projects from North to South that Dat Phuong won the bid for.
Speed up progress

Engineer Dao Hong Ngoc said that up to now, the contractor has completed the construction of bored piles for 5 piers, 2 abutments on the dry land of the west and east banks. As for the east bank, abutment M1 and pier T1 have been completed; piers T7 and T8 on the west bank are in the process of completion.
At the construction site, steel is actively gathered and ready, ensuring enough for the whole month of February 2024. Because the contractor is worried that after the Lunar New Year of Giap Thin 2024, the supplier will lack goods, causing the construction to be passive. The total value of the volume is currently over 20 billion VND.

Informing reporters of Quang Nam Newspaper , Mr. Nguyen Van Thuong - Deputy Director of the Management Board of Investment and Construction Projects of Traffic Works of Quang Nam Province (project investor) shared that, regarding the Van Ly bridge section, the contractor committed to closing the main bridge by the end of 2024 and opening the bridge to technical traffic in early 2025.
For the access road project, Dien Ban town commits to hand over all agricultural land by the end of April 2024; by the end of 2024, the land clearance related to houses, architectural structures, etc. will be completed.

Along with Dien Ban town, Dai Loc district is also urgently taking steps to develop a compensation, support and resettlement plan to serve the construction of the approach road (connecting from the west of Van Ly bridge, through Dai Hoa commune, connecting to DT609B and DT609C). The province directs localities to promptly clear the road, ensure timely handover so that the contractor can implement construction and complete the project to welcome the 23rd Provincial Party Congress (term 2025 - 2030). To complete this goal, the locality assigned as the investor of the sub-project of compensation and site clearance for the Van Ly bridge project and the approach road needs to urgently carry out the construction of resettlement areas and arrange new accommodation for affected people.

The site manager of Dat Phuong Group Joint Stock Company - engineer Dao To Van said that the construction site is expected to have a traditional Tet holiday from December 22 (February 1, 2024) to January 9, Giap Thin year (February 18, 2024). Because most of the staff and workers are from the northern provinces, almost all year round they are attached to the construction site and have little chance to go home, so the company creates conditions for them to reunite with their families for a long time. The above action not only shows concern for the lives of employees, but also helps them "recharge their energy" to focus on their tasks after the Tet holiday with an expected larger and more intense workload.

“The number of human resources and equipment currently on the construction site is still not concentrated enough. After the Tet holiday, the company's leaders will continue to mobilize additional human resources and specialized equipment to speed up the construction progress of the main bridge. At the same time, some small bridges on the approach roads will be built if the land is handed over,” said engineer Dao Hong Ngoc.
On January 1, 2024, the Prime Minister signed Official Dispatch No. 01 on continuing to promote the highest sense of responsibility and speeding up the investment and construction progress of transport infrastructure projects and works.
The Prime Minister requested the Chairmen of the People's Committees of provinces and centrally-run cities to have projects to mobilize the entire political system to participate in propaganda and mobilization of people to speed up the progress of site clearance and relocation of technical infrastructure; in which, focusing on investing in the construction of resettlement areas, ensuring that people have new housing that is at least equal to or better than their old housing.
Direct all levels and sectors to closely coordinate with investors and construction contractors to do a good job of propaganda, mobilization, support, create more jobs and livelihoods for local people, create excitement and attachment "when you go, people remember, when you stay, people love".
Closely coordinate with the competent authority of the transport project in urgently licensing material mines, especially mines under special mechanisms; review local common material mines to ensure supply and capacity to meet the project's construction progress and restore the original state after completion.
