Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture will officially work with Ngoc Mai and her husband.

(NADS) - Regarding the scandal between O Sen Ngoc Mai and Quoc Nghiep in the US, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture said it will officially handle the matter when they return to Vietnam.

A representative of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture and Sports (HCMC Department of Culture and Sports) said that Ngoc Mai and Quoc Nghiep are freelance artists and do not belong to any public units of the Department. According to current law, freelance artists do not need permission to travel abroad, except to participate in beauty or model contests.

Regarding the controversial images of Quoc Nghiep and Ngoc Mai, the Department of Culture and Sports of Ho Chi Minh City is coordinating to verify and will work with them when they return home. Previously, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MOCST) said it was verifying the incident.

Ngoc Mai and Quoc Nghiep explained that they could not control the image of the flag in the video and "promised to learn from the experience". However, public opinion was outraged, saying that the couple was irresponsible. Currently, Ngoc Mai and Quoc Nghiep have locked their personal pages and Facebook fanpage.
