(NLDO) – In the first week after Tet holiday, students are not in a hurry to return to Ho Chi Minh City. On social networks, young people take turns "flexing" about the Tet holiday schedule of universities.
On February 4, on student groups, some people excitedly showed off the thoughtful Tet holiday schedules of some universities. Thanks to that, students have more time to spend with their families, save money on bus tickets to Ho Chi Minh City and do not have to jostle in the "sea of people" during these days.
Account Nguyen Tam commented: "2-0 win. The school gave me a month off for Tet and added an extra week of online classes."
Le Phu's account is equally "flexible": "School H in Tan Phu district lets students stay home until January 20th."
Sharing about the long Tet holiday schedule, MSc. Pham Thai Son, Director of the Admissions and Communications Center - Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade, said that the school's Tet holiday schedule is almost 1 month, starting from January 20 (December 21) to February 16 (January 19).
"Previously, from 2020 to 2022, the school organized online learning in parallel during Tet, creating conditions for students to have more time with their families. However, the school found that online learning of specialized subjects was not effective. Therefore, in recent years, the school has not arranged an online teaching schedule during Tet holiday. Students are also more excited to start the new school year in the lecture hall instead of through a laptop screen" - Ths Son informed.
At Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry, students officially have Tet holiday from January 20 (December 21) to February 9 (January 12). However, students can be more flexible when they return home for Tet. Students have at least 36 days off for Tet and the longest is 58 days off (including Saturday and Sunday), which is nearly 2 months.
"Before and after the Tet holiday, the school arranges online study schedules for students. Thanks to that, students can conveniently arrange their travel schedules from Ho Chi Minh City to their hometowns and vice versa" - Dr. Nguyen Trung Nhan, Head of Training Department - Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry, commented.
Universities say that the long Tet holiday and switching to online teaching for 1-2 weeks after Tet will help reduce pressure on students. Students can also save a lot of money on tickets and travel time.
This is also an ideal time to “recharge” and help students be in the best spirits when returning to school. However, to have a long Tet holiday, some schools have to shorten students’ summer vacation by 1-2 weeks.
