Within the framework of the FinanceAsia Awards 2024, SHB won 3 important award categories, evaluated based on the positive impacts on customers, society and employees. The award affirms the bank's right direction in sustainable development, identifying people as the subject and community responsibility.
FinanceAsia Awards is one of the most prestigious awards in the financial sector, organized annually by FinanceAsia Magazine with a jury of leading financial experts in the Asia-Pacific region. In 2024, SHB was honored in 3 award categories: "Bank with the most positive ESG impact in Vietnam" (Biggest ESG Impact - Banks in Vietnam); "Best SME Bank in Vietnam" (Best Commercial Bank - SME in Vietnam) and "Bank with the most diverse, equitable & inclusive (DEI) working environment in Vietnam" (Most DEI Progressive - Banks in Vietnam).
The three awards from FinanceAsia Magazine are a testament to the achievements of SHB's transformation journey. Following the momentum of last year, the Bank is focusing its resources on implementing a strong and comprehensive Transformation Strategy based on four pillars: Reforming mechanisms, policies, regulations, and processes; People as the subject; Taking customers and markets as the center; Modernizing information technology and digital transformation and remaining steadfast in following the six core cultural values of "Heart - Trust - Faith - Knowledge - Intelligence - Vision".
SHB aims to become the TOP 1 Bank in terms of efficiency; the most favorite Digital Bank; the best Retail Bank and the TOP Bank providing capital, products and financial services to strategic private and state enterprise customers, with a supply chain, value chain, ecosystem and green development.

The Bank will continue to commit to and strongly implement policies to promote green credit, increase capital funding in the fields of agriculture, forestry, food processing, industry, especially investing in green energy projects, renewable energy, infrastructure development, and building a circular economy for key regions across the country.
With a solid foundation over three decades, along with a deep corporate culture, SHB is always steadfast in its orientation of sustainable, safe and effective development, while creating and spreading good values to society and the country.
Currently, SHB has been a trusted partner of many financial institutions such as WB, IFC, ADB... directing credit flows to energy projects, projects that meet "green" factors, helping small and medium enterprises (SMEs), women-owned businesses... access capital for business activities.
Outstanding credit for SMEs, especially green business groups, increased sharply in 2023, more than double the bank's overall credit growth. Along with issuing and perfecting product policies, SHB has also synchronously deployed solutions to promote SME business activities such as connecting and signing cooperation agreements with Small and Medium Enterprise Associations, accompanying this group of businesses in consulting and training activities, improving corporate governance, optimizing capital sources and risk management, etc.
At the same time, SHB signed a credit cooperation contract with IFC worth USD 120 million to develop its SME lending portfolio, with priority given to women-owned enterprises and those participating in the supply chain. SHB committed to set aside at least 37.5% of the loan value for lending to women-owned enterprises, and the bank will receive USD 226,000 in funding from the Women Entrepreneurs Finance Initiative (We-Fi) and the Women Entrepreneurs Opportunity Fund (WEOF) - global funding initiatives aimed at expanding access to capital for women entrepreneurs.
The bank also participated in programs and activities to accompany the community and society and left many positive impressions, notably the program "Support to minimize the impact of COVID-19 for women-owned businesses" sponsored by ADB. SHB is the leading bank among the 5 banks participating in the project with a total amount of non-refundable aid to customers of up to 1.7 million USD.
With the ESG risk management framework built and applied across the entire system, each component is assessed to be consistent with international guidelines and practices on ESG risk management, helping SHB attract capital flows from international organizations, thereby ensuring resources to continue supporting green transformation projects and small and medium enterprises, women-owned enterprises, bringing positive impacts to the socio-economy.
With diverse products and services, meeting financial needs, bringing convenience, simplifying processes and procedures, shortening time and improving the efficiency of cash flow management of customers, SHB is creating clear marks in the market and is deservedly recognized with related awards such as Bank with the most positive ESG impact in Vietnam and Best SME Bank in Vietnam for many consecutive years.
Internally, developing corporate culture and training to attract talent is a consistent orientation based on one of SHB's four pillars - "People are the subject". The Bank always promotes creativity and is ready for new challenges. SHB has been focusing on building an open working environment with new ideas and ways of working, while inheriting good traditional humanistic values from Tam. That cultural foundation has helped SHB attract talent, create attachment with employees, join hands to develop services, solutions and develop the Bank.
Notably at SHB, the proportion of female employees accounts for 58.9%. The number of female employees with management positions accounts for 56.9% (statistics up to February 28, 2024) and in the Board of Directors alone, 3/8 leadership positions including the General Director and Deputy General Director are female. SHB's female employees are recognized and given opportunities to develop their abilities through comprehensive and equal welfare policies and regimes with more than 35 items allocated to 7 groups such as: Salary, bonus, health insurance, direct allowances... In addition, spiritual welfare programs such as: honoring activities, gift giving on March 8, October 20, birthdays; vacation programs, teambuilding, cultural and sports exchanges... have helped employees balance their lives, relieve work pressure, and connect with colleagues.
The award "Bank with the most Diverse, Equitable & Inclusive (DEI) working environment in Vietnam" from FinanceAsia is a recognition of the comprehensive development of human factors, working environment, and corporate culture - which SHB has been creating and spreading.
