Vietnam Green Building Week 2024 with the theme "Green Building Development: Transforming from Policy to Action" chaired by the Ministry of Construction in coordination with agencies and organizations will take place in early October 2024.

This is a major and prestigious event organized annually by the Ministry of Construction since 2020 to implement tasks in the National Program on energy saving and efficiency for the period 2019-2030 (According to Decision 280/QD-TTg dated March 13, 2019 of the Prime Minister); strategies, programs, and plans on green growth, climate change response, and sustainable urban development.
At the same time, it promotes, publicizes and raises awareness among stakeholders about the benefits of developing green buildings and green cities, as well as demonstrates the efforts of the construction industry in using energy economically and efficiently, contributing to reducing greenhouse gas emissions, minimizing the impact of climate change and moving towards sustainable development in Vietnam.
Following the success of the 3 events (in 2020, 2022, 2023), Green Building Week 2024 will focus on discussing new policies in the field of green building development in Vietnam; Sharing experiences in building and developing green, smart buildings, responding to climate change, highly adapting to technology, applying digital transformation, towards the goal of sustainable development.
Through this, we will gather opinions from experts, scientists, and businesses in the field of green building development domestically and internationally to propose mechanisms and solutions to promote the development of green buildings, green cities, use energy and resources economically and efficiently, and reduce emissions in the construction sector.
Vietnam Green Building Week 2024 will feature many events including 1 plenary session, 4 thematic seminars and 1 exhibition of green products and buildings in the construction sector such as: Green, ecological, energy-saving materials; introduction of investors and businesses; introduction of construction technology, green project management models, etc.
Within the framework of the event, there will also be activities to honor organizations and individuals who have contributed to green development; award green building certificates; award student green architecture competitions; and journalism awards for writing about green buildings. With the above diverse events, it is expected to attract over 1,000 delegates from ministries, sectors, urban authorities, agencies, organizations, and domestic and international enterprises.
As part of the sideline activities of the Green Building Week 2024 event, the Ministry of Construction will coordinate with the Hanoi People's Committee to organize a Forum with the theme "Sharing experiences and solutions for developing green buildings in Vietnam" with the participation of leaders of the Ministry of Construction and leaders of the Hanoi People's Committee, domestic and international organizations, and businesses participating in consulting, investing in construction, and managing and operating green buildings.
In particular, the Plenary Session will focus on the topic "Green building development: transforming from policy to action". with the participation of ministries, branches, localities, domestic and international agencies and organizations, including research institutes, universities, associations, experts, scientists, representatives of banks, credit institutions, manufacturing enterprises, investors, consulting units, designers, construction contractors, managers of green construction projects, etc.
The parties will jointly provide forecasts, orientations and policy solutions to promote the development of green buildings in Vietnam; Thematic seminars will focus on the topics of housing development, real estate, new materials in the direction of green, energy saving, emission reduction, sustainable development; urban planning, management and green infrastructure.
Within the framework of Green Building Week, the first Vietnam Green Building Run 2024 will be held with the participation of 300 athletes from agencies, organizations, students, and people to enhance exchanges and connections between agencies, units, organizations, businesses and people working in green buildings, encourage physical exercise, improve people's health, communicate, raise awareness, and spread the message of green living, developing green buildings, and green cities.
The writing contest on “Green Construction Development” organized by Construction Newspaper aims to honor construction works that are suitable for the natural conditions and hot and humid tropical climate of Vietnam, in harmony with the natural landscape, blending with green spaces; Using energy resources, water resources economically and effectively; Promoting the use of green, energy-saving, environmentally friendly materials and local materials, recycled and regenerated materials; Minimizing negative impacts on the surrounding environment and ensuring the best quality of living environment for building users; Managing “smart” buildings. |
