baophutho.vnOn April 3, the 2025 Hung Vuong Cup Volleyball Tournament will officially kick off at the Phu Tho Provincial Sports Training and Competition Hall with the participation of many of the best "hitters" in Vietnam. Up to this point, along with the preparations of the local Organizing Committee, the teams have also started practicing at the official competition field, ready to bring to the tournament exciting chases with high professional quality.
The Hung Vuong Cup Volleyball Tournament has become the most anticipated activity every year on the occasion of the Hung Kings' Commemoration Day.
As one of the four men's volleyball teams that won the right to go to Phu Tho first with an unbeaten streak after the end of Phase 1 of the National Volleyball Championship, Ho Chi Minh City Police is now present at the Phu Tho Province Sports Training and Competition House to start training. According to the records in the first training session taking place at 7:00 p.m. on March 31, Coach Duong Tuan Vinh and his colleagues let some key players rest after a period of continuous competition at the National Championship. Meanwhile, the remaining players all showed a comfortable physical and mental state to complete the training plan set out by the Coaching Board.
Ho Chi Minh City Police team arrived in Phu Tho the earliest to start training.
Sharing with the media, Head Coach of Ho Chi Minh City Police Duong Tuan Vinh said: “Coming to Phu Tho early will help the athletes have more time to practice, get used to the climate conditions and the official competition field. I know that this year's Hung Vuong Cup will have a prize level about 3 times higher than previous years, this is a good sign that the tournament will continue to reach international level in the coming years, however, the goal of the whole team at this year's tournament is to compete well in each match for the flag and colors to continue to affirm the image of Ho Chi Minh City Police".
This year's Hung Vuong Cup Volleyball Tournament takes place from April 3 to April 6 with the participation of the 8 best men's and women's teams after Phase 1 - National Volleyball Championship ended on March 31. Of which, there are 4 men's teams: Ho Chi Minh City Police, Tan Cang The Cong, Da Nang, MB Border Guard and 4 women's teams: LPBank Ninh Binh, BTL Thong Tin, Cong Thuong Bank and the reigning champion of Hung Vuong Cup 2024 VTV Binh Dien Long An. This is the most anticipated sporting event at the Hung Vuong Ancestor's Anniversary and the Culture - Tourism Week of the Ancestral Land this year, promising to create top-notch competitions and many relationships between the forces of Vietnamese Volleyball.
Video Challenge Eyes technology - similar to VAR in football continues to be used at this year's Hung Vuong Cup.
According to the assessment of the General Secretary of the Vietnam Volleyball Federation Le Tri Truong: After 17 successful seasons in many aspects, the Hung Vuong Cup Volleyball Tournament has not only received the attention, follow-up and anticipation of domestic audiences but also been welcomed by overseas Vietnamese when gathering many of the best athletes of Vietnamese and regional Volleyball to compete. Therefore, all matches at the Hung Vuong Cup this year will be broadcast live on digital platforms to help audiences who do not have the conditions to come to Phu Tho to watch conveniently.
Along with the training of the teams, up to now, the Organizing Committee of Phu Tho province has also prepared well the conditions of facilities; installed additional LED screens on stand D to best support the organization of the match. In addition, closely coordinating with the Vietnam Volleyball Federation to continue to deploy Video Challenge Eyes technology - similar to VAR in football with many slow-motion cameras to support the referee to review controversial situations that occurred during the match. Thereby, helping to ensure fairness and transparency for all teams participating in the tournament.
Tickets for this year's Hung Vuong Cup matches are on sale from March 31 to April 6 (or until sold out) at the main gate of Phu Tho Provincial Sports Training and Competition Hall.
Comrade Nguyen Van Ha - Director of the Phu Tho Province Sports Complex Management and Exploitation Center said: "All preparations for the tournament have been carefully prepared, ready for the opening day of the tournament. The new point of this year's Hung Vuong Cup is that there is an official sponsor - Lam Thao Super Phosphate and Chemical Joint Stock Company, so the prize for the teams has also increased 3 to 5 times in the prizes for the Champion, Second, Third, Encouragement teams and individual prizes. In addition, the support budget for the teams has also been doubled. This not only increases the competitiveness between the teams but also contributes to gradually raising the tournament to an international level in the coming years".
With groundbreaking changes from the organization to the award structure, the Hung Vuong Cup 2025 promises to be the most exciting season ever with the participation of many top stars of Vietnamese volleyball such as: "Dinosaur" Tran Thi Thanh Thuy - VTV Binh Dien Long An; "King of Bombing" Nguyen Thi Bich Tuyen - LP Bank Ninh Binh and World Champion in 2014, 2018 Michal Kubiak - Polish striker in the Ho Chi Minh City Police uniform.
