Hai Duong's livestock and poultry meat output increased

According to the Provincial Statistics Office, by the end of July 2024, the pig herd in Hai Duong was estimated at 303,000, up 4.6% over the same period last year. The output of live pigs for slaughter in the first 7 months of 2024 reached 41,319 tons, up 6.3% over the same period in 2023.

The buffalo herd reached 5,410 heads, down 0.4% over the same period last year; the cow herd reached 14,400 heads, up 1.8%. The output of buffalo meat for sale in the first 7 months was about 532 tons, up 0.9% over the same period in 2023. In the first 7 months of this year, the output of beef for sale reached 1,065 tons, up 3.1% over the same period last year.

The total poultry herd in the province is estimated at more than 16.6 million, an increase of 3.7% over the same period in 2023. The output of live poultry meat for sale in 7 months was 42,877 tons, an increase of 7.2% over the same period last year.

The output of live cattle and poultry meat for sale increased compared to the same period due to the stable livestock situation in Hai Duong, no epidemics, and good livestock development. Pig farming by enterprises, farms, and large-scale households has brought high economic efficiency. Farmers have proactively restored their herds according to the recommendations of the authorities, applied disease prevention measures for livestock and poultry, and applied biosafety farming...
