According to WCCF Tech , the future of the Galaxy S25 flagship line is becoming the center of attention when famous analyst Ming-Chi Kuo made a sensational prediction, according to which Samsung may completely eliminate the Exynos 2500 chip line, instead using exclusively Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Gen 4.
Galaxy S25 may only use Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chip
WCCFTECH SCREENSHOT
The reason for this move is said to be due to Samsung's 3nm chip production efficiency not meeting initial expectations, leading to the inability to mass produce the Exynos 2500 chip at a reasonable cost. This is in stark contrast to previous rumors that Samsung would adopt a dual-chipset strategy for the upcoming Galaxy S25 series.
This failure of Samsung is considered a great opportunity for Qualcomm. Accordingly, the US chip maker is said to increase the price of Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 by up to 30%, taking advantage of the fact that Samsung has no other choice but to accept the higher price.
Using only Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 also means that Samsung will have to rely entirely on Qualcomm, and may have to increase the price of the Galaxy S25 to offset the cost.
The failure of the Exynos 2500 raises big questions about the future of Samsung's homegrown chip line. Can the Korean tech giant overcome difficulties in the manufacturing sector to continue developing Exynos or will it have to rely entirely on Qualcomm? The answer will significantly affect Samsung's position in the high-end smartphone market.
