In her memoir, Ms. Nguyen Thi Binh was extremely proud when writing about her hometown: "My hometown is in Quang Nam, which used to be a province. During the war against the US, due to special conditions, it was temporarily divided into two, the north called Quang Da, the south called Quang Nam (the Saigon government called the north Quang Nam, the south Quang Tin). My hometown is not rich but it is very rich: green rice fields, rivers everywhere - the famous Thu Bon River; the short Han River is full and strong; the very special Truong Giang River does not flow down from the mountains but connects from one estuary to another; the Tam Ky River is green all year round; the Co Co River is like a natural canal connecting water flows throughout the province...".

And when writing about the patriot Phan Chu Trinh, she admitted that she also inherited the characteristics of the Quang people like her grandfather. "Mr. Phan is also considered a typical person of the general characteristics of the Quang people: upright, courageous, not easily subdued. The 'arguing' habit of the Quang people is probably also present in him. Quang people are also often 'greedy for public affairs', meaning they are responsible for the country and community, ready to take on and devote themselves. That person is also a very affectionate person, and open, sensitive to new things, so there is a song: Quang Nam land has not yet rained but is already soaked, Hong Dao wine has not yet been tasted but is already drunk . Many friends think that I have inherited some of those characteristics of the Quang people", Ms. Nguyen Thi Binh wrote in her memoir.
