"In previous years, after two days off from work, I only spent time shopping for Tet, from buying candy, fruit, alcohol to peaches, kumquats, new clothes for the whole family, and then buying Tet gifts for relatives. When I got home, I had to clean the house, so I was always exhausted. Since last year, I have chosen to shop for Tet online, so I have been very relaxed," said Ms. Dung. Half a month ago, she spent time researching on e-commerce platforms such as Shopee, Lazada, Tik Tok shop to choose the necessary items for Tet, put them in her shopping cart, and just waited for the stores to have discounts or the platforms to provide year-end subsidies before placing an order. According to Ms. Dung, online shopping saves a lot of time compared to shopping directly at stores and supermarkets.
Also a "fan" of online shopping, Ms. Do Thanh Ngan (Zone 6, Tan Binh Ward, Hai Duong City) has also done her shopping for Tet. Ms. Ngan said: "Instead of having to go to several stores to buy enough things for Tet like every year, now I just need to sit at home and close the order to be able to buy everything. E-commerce platforms and many online shops have free home delivery programs or support shipping, so I still prioritize online shopping."
In addition to the convenience of shopping, many promotional programs, the ease of choosing and comparing prices between many stores is also one of the reasons why many people increasingly prefer online Tet shopping. "Whenever I need to buy something, I go to e-commerce platforms to search and compare prices. Recently, Shopee and Tik Tok shops have both had big promotion codes if I buy during livestreams, so I often choose in advance and wait for them to livestream to buy to save money," said Ms. Hoang Thi Nga (in Zone 5, Phu Thu Town, Kinh Mon).
Not only young people prioritize online Tet shopping, but many middle-aged people are also interested in this trend. Ms. Truong Thi Thuy (in Thuong Dat, Hai Duong City) has just received an order of several kilograms of Thai Nguyen tea from a store in Hanoi. Ms. Thuy happily said: "While watching YouTube, I accidentally saw an advertisement of this tea store so I tried ordering 1 kilogram. I was quite satisfied because the tea was delicious, the price was reasonable, and the store gave me an extra 100 grams to introduce customers. After that, I continued to place 2 orders. This Tet, I bought 4 kilograms of special tea to give to relatives. Because I am a regular customer, the store gave me an extra half kilogram of the delicious type."
Choose carefully
Online shopping has become a trend, however not everyone is satisfied when receiving online orders.
Last Tet, Ms. Dung had a pretty bad experience when receiving an order for buffalo jerky from a shop on Facebook. "I bought it during the shop's livestream. They introduced it as a special product, fresh, delicious buffalo meat, raised using traditional methods. But when I received it, I was disappointed because it had no taste at all," Ms. Dung said.
After that unpleasant experience, Ms. Dung researched and when she needed to buy specialties, she only ordered from stores recommended by the Department of Industry and Trade or local newspapers.
Ms. Ngan said that when shopping on e-commerce platforms, she often looks for malls or stores with a large number of followers, products with high sales and many good reviews. Before buying anything, she carefully reads the reviews of previous buyers to make the right choice.
E-commerce is growing, many bad guys take advantage of the development of e-commerce to trade in fake, counterfeit goods, of unknown origin. Therefore, in addition to strengthening the management of functional agencies, people need to choose reputable shopping addresses, quality products to have a happy, warm Tet.
