The 20th Southern Fruit Festival - Suoi Tien Farm Festival 2024 with the theme "Happy Farming Journey" opened on June 1.
The Southern Fruit Festival is one of the unique tourism events of Ho Chi Minh City since 2004, held annually at Suoi Tien Cultural Tourism from June 1st, lasting until the end of summer. Over the past 20 years, the festival has made many impressions.
Ms. Bui Thi To Trinh, Deputy General Director of Suoi Tien Cultural Tourism, said that the festival is oriented to enhance international integration. This year, the festival is organized by Suoi Tien in coordination with the Ho Chi Minh City Union of Friendship Organizations, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism and a number of other units on a large scale, with many cultural festival activities.
The parade show with the theme "Suoi Tien Farm - Turning the waves to reach out" is splendidly decorated with the theme of international integration, cultural and artistic exchange with countries in the region.
"The festival aims to introduce to domestic and international tourists the unique, rich and diverse varieties of regional fruits across the country; honor the achievements of labor in the agricultural sector, preserve, develop and promote Vietnamese culture, arts, tourism and cuisine, contributing to enhancing friendship between Vietnam and other countries" - Ms. To Trinh emphasized.
Tourists and city residents come to visit, have fun, and shop for fruits at the Southern Fruit Festival, which opens from June 1 until the end of this summer.
This year's Southern Fruit Festival is also a highlight in the series of events of the Ho Chi Minh City River Festival (taking place from May 31 to June 9) throughout the city.
The most anticipated activity during each festival season is the specialty fruit market - where hundreds of varieties of fresh, ripe early-season fruits, along with OCOP products from many localities, are gathered here, sold at prices 20% - 30% cheaper than the market.
