Recently, at Tan Phat Dia Agricultural Products Distribution Center, Phong Dai District, Beijing Capital, China, the Ministry of Industry and Trade coordinated with the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of Vietnam, the Embassy of Vietnam in China and the Vietnam Fruit and Vegetable Association to organize the First Vietnamese Fruit Festival with the theme "Vietnamese Fruit - Four Delicious Seasons".
The event was attended by a large number of Chinese people, businesses, overseas Vietnamese and nearly 30 domestic businesses. It was a good opportunity for Vietnamese producers and suppliers to introduce and promote their brands and images of typical fruit products, as well as meet and seek customers, enhance trade activities, and build sustainable cooperative relationships with potential partners in fruit import in China.
Immediately after the opening ceremony of the first Vietnam Fruit Festival in Beijing, China on September 29, 2024, Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien had a meeting with Mr. Truong Ngoc Ty, Chairman of the China Fruit and Vegetable Association and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Tan Phat Dia.

In particular, at the meeting with Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien, Mr. Truong Ngoc Ty promised to arrange for Vietnam a free booth displaying fruit, agricultural, forestry and fishery products from various regions at Tan Dia Phat center.
On the side of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Minister Nguyen Hong Dien was extremely grateful for the promise of the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Tan Phat Dia and said that after the business trip, he would officially send a thank you letter to the Chinese representative. At the same time, the Minister also assigned the Trade Promotion Department to coordinate with relevant agencies to soon deploy this exhibition booth to promote Vietnamese agricultural products to quickly access this potential market.
Speaking with reporters from the Industry and Trade Newspaper, Mr. Vu Ba Phu, Director of the Department of Trade Promotion, said that he will advise the Ministry's leaders, direct and organize booths to rotate the display of agricultural, forestry and aquatic products of Vietnamese provinces and cities to meet the diverse needs of local people here.
Beijing is an internationalized city with a population of 30 million and a huge demand for high-quality agricultural products. Xinfadi Center is the main supplier of vegetables and fruits to the capital's residents, supplying up to 90% of agricultural products in Beijing. In 2023, the total volume of agricultural products traded in Xinfadi reached 15.16 million tons, with a total transaction value of 126.7 billion yuan. Beijing's agricultural self-sufficiency rate is very low, with most agricultural products coming from other provinces and imported from abroad.
Since 2008, Xinfadi has opened a chain of convenience stores in the inner city, present in more than 1,000/1,700 neighborhoods in Beijing. By 2018, with an area of 1,680 acres, 1,500 employees, 2,000 stalls, and 4,000 suppliers, Xinfadi has developed into the largest wholesale supermarket in Asia. In 2019, the amount of food sold here reached nearly 17.49 million tons, the transaction volume reached 131 billion yuan, topping the transaction table of a total of 4,600 wholesale agricultural markets nationwide for 17 consecutive years.
Xinfadi is not only Beijing's "vegetable basket", but also the representative voice of China's agricultural products, the brand of China. The Chairman of the Board of Directors of Xinfadi Agricultural Products Distribution Center said that every year, agricultural products from 46 countries and regions are displayed in Xinfadi, it can be said that " just step into Xinfadi, you can enjoy cuisine from all over the world ".
The first Vietnamese Fruit Festival in Beijing, China, has ended with many unexpected results. And with the appearance of a booth displaying fruit, agricultural - forestry - aquatic products from all regions of Vietnam at Tan Dia Phat Center, it is a rare opportunity for Vietnamese agricultural products to once again open their doors to the billion-people market, while contributing to promoting culture, tourism and the image of the rich country and people of Vietnam to the international community.
