Many products have potential to supply to the Chinese market.

On the occasion of the visit to Vietnam of Premier of the State Council of the People's Republic of China Li Qiang, the Ministry of Industry and Trade was assigned to preside over and coordinate with the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, relevant ministries, agencies and localities to organize an exhibition area of Vietnam's special agricultural products exported to China on October 13, 2024 at No. 1 Hoang Hoa Tham, Ba Dinh District, Hanoi.

The exhibition area has the participation of 16 Vietnamese enterprises, introducing over 50 groups of high-quality products from 3 regions of the country. Through surveys and evaluations, it shows that these products are very suitable for the needs, tastes and food hygiene and safety requirements of the Chinese market. Among these, there are many products that are especially favored by Chinese consumers such as coffee, tea, durian, bananas, dairy products, bird's nests, etc.

In addition, the Exhibition Area also introduces products with great potential for good supply to the Chinese market, which have just opened the market such as fresh coconut, frozen durian. In addition, there are many products with potential supply that the Chinese market certainly has high demand for such as fruits.

According to the Trade Promotion Agency (Ministry of Industry and Trade), the exhibition of Vietnam's special agricultural products exported to China is the result of the first Vietnam Fruit Festival in Beijing, China, recently organized by the Ministry of Industry and Trade in coordination with the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of Vietnam, the Vietnamese Embassy in China and the Vietnam Fruit and Vegetable Association.

At the same time, the exhibition will also be a premise for Vietnam to soon organize a booth in the direction of rotating the display of agricultural, forestry and aquatic products of Vietnamese provinces and cities to meet the diverse needs of people at the Tan Phat Dia Agricultural Products Distribution Center exhibition area, Phong Dai District, Beijing Capital, China according to the promise of the Chairman of the China Fruit and Vegetable Association and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Tan Phat Dia, Truong Ngoc Ty.

Previously, right before the opening ceremony of the first Vietnam Fruit Festival in Beijing, China on September 29, 2024, Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien had a talk with Mr. Truong Ngoc Ty.

The event aims to promote trade and build sustainable cooperative relationships with potential partners in fruit import in China.

During a meeting with Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien, Mr. Truong Ngoc Ty promised to arrange a free booth for Vietnam to display fruit, agricultural, forestry and aquatic products from various regions at Tan Phat Dia center.

Immediately afterwards, Minister Nguyen Hong Dien assigned the Trade Promotion Department to coordinate with relevant agencies to soon deploy this exhibition booth to promote Vietnamese agricultural products to quickly access this potential market.

Vietnam - China economic and trade cooperation is increasingly substantive and effective.

According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, in recent years, the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership between Vietnam and China has been developing very well, bringing practical benefits to both sides; in which economic and trade cooperation between the two countries has been increasingly developing deeply and widely and achieved many important and positive results, despite the decline of the world economy. As evidence, China has continuously maintained its position as Vietnam's largest trading partner and Vietnam is currently China's largest trading partner in ASEAN and the 6th largest in the world.

One of the important priorities in economic, trade and investment cooperation between Vietnam and China is that the two sides continue to strive to maintain a stable, balanced and sustainable development trend; actively promote and promptly complete procedures to export more Vietnamese products with strengths to China, especially agricultural and aquatic products.

In recent times, China has always been identified as the largest and most important export market for agricultural, forestry and fishery products of Vietnam. In the first 9 months of 2024, the export turnover of agricultural, forestry and fishery products to China reached 9.26 billion USD, of which the export turnover of vegetables and fruits reached 3.4 billion USD, an increase of 36% over the same period in 2023. With this result, China continues to be the export market of Vietnamese vegetables and fruits in the past 9 months.

In 2022, durian exports will reach 420 million USD, in 2023 they will reach 2.3 billion USD, a 5-fold increase compared to 2022 and a 10-fold increase compared to 2021, of which over 90% will be exported to China. Obviously, thanks to the Protocol, durian exports have achieved such impressive results. However, the results achieved in the past have not been commensurate with the potential, needs and strengths of each side.

Currently, in addition to 14 types of agricultural products that go through official channels, most of the remaining items are exported through border trade channels (informal channels); while the demand for fruit consumption in the Chinese market is very large and the ability to supply high-quality, specialty fruits in Vietnam is abundant; along with that is the advantage of bilateral and multilateral trade agreements of which the two countries are members. Vietnam is also a country with more than 1,450 km of border (waterway, road) with China, so logistics costs are low and more competitive than other countries. Therefore, there is still a lot of room for fruit businesses of the two countries to exploit and develop.

Therefore, organizing the Exhibition Area of Vietnam's outstanding agricultural products exported to China is a good opportunity for Vietnamese manufacturers and suppliers to introduce and promote their brands and images of outstanding agricultural products, as well as meet and seek customers, enhance trade activities, and build sustainable cooperative relationships with potential partners in fruit import in China.

Vietnamese enterprises participating in the Exhibition Area are dynamic enterprises in the agricultural and food industry: PAN Group Joint Stock Company, TH Group (TH Food Chain Joint Stock Company), Khanh Hoa Salanganes Nest State-owned One Member Co., Ltd., Nutifood Binh Duong Nutrition Food Joint Stock Company, AVANEST Vietnam Nutrition Joint Stock Company, Phong Hai Lao Cai Joint Stock Company, Trung Nguyen Legend Group, Ameii Vietnam Joint Stock Company, Hoa Viet International Agriculture Joint Stock Company, Nutricare Nutrition Joint Stock Company, Thanh Thanh Cong - Bien Hoa Joint Stock Company, Chanh Thu Fruit Import-Export Group Joint Stock Company, Vinh Phat Fertilizer Joint Stock Company, Visimex Group Joint Stock Company, Vietnam Agricultural and Food Import-Export Joint Stock Company, Banana Brothers Farm Joint Stock Company.
