Sources say US President-elect Donald Trump's team is drafting a detailed list of senior figures who will be laid off at the Pentagon.
Reuters on November 14 quoted sources as saying that members of President-elect Donald Trump's transition team are drawing up a list of officials to lay off, in an unprecedented reorganization at the US Department of Defense (Pentagon).
The plan is in its early stages after Trump’s November 5 election victory and could change as the Trump administration takes shape, according to the sources. One of the sources questioned the feasibility of the layoffs.

It is unclear whether Mr Trump will endorse the plan, although he has previously criticized many of his defense leaders who have criticized him. Mr Trump also vowed during the campaign to fire those responsible for the troubled 2021 withdrawal from Afghanistan.
The Trump campaign did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
The Pentagon is expected to have many personnel changes under the upcoming Trump term.
According to sources, the incoming administration may focus on forcing out military officers who are believed to have ties to Mark Milley, former Chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff.
In his book War, published last month, author Bob Woodward quoted Milley as harshly criticizing Trump. Trump’s allies have taken aim at Milley, accusing him of disloyalty to the former president.
“Every single person that Milley promoted and appointed is going to leave. There is a very detailed list of everyone who has been associated with Milley. And they are all going to leave,” according to a source.
The Joint Chiefs of Staff includes the highest-ranking officers in the US military, including the heads of the Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, National Guard and Space Force.
The revelation of plans to fire top military leaders comes a day after Trump picked Pete Hegseth to be his defense secretary. Hegseth, a veteran Fox News host, has expressed his willingness to clean up the Pentagon.
Some current and former US officials say such a major personnel shakeup is unlikely, arguing that it would be unnecessary and disruptive at a time when the world is witnessing wars in Ukraine and the Middle East.
