November 20, 2024 – Saigon Beer – Alcohol – Beverage Corporation (SABECO) officially opened the SABECO Beer Industry Research and Development Center (SRC), marking a new step forward for the enterprise in its journey towards the goal of completely mastering technology and creating many new high-quality products, contributing to strongly affirming the value of Vietnamese brands in the international arena.
Aspiration to develop Vietnam's beverage industry from Vietnamese brewers For many years, many generations of technical staff and brewers of SABECO have always aspired to master technology and develop Vietnam's beverage industry on par with the world. The idea of the SRC Project was formed from practical needs in the beer production process in the context of the market and customer tastes constantly changing. SABECO realized the need for a beer research and development system at the most in-depth level possible to innovate technology, research and apply new materials, new processes to improve and produce new beer lines, suitable for Vietnamese culinary culture and tastes. In preparation for the project, many technical staff were also sent by SABECO to attend the Brewmaster training course in Germany - the cradle of the world beer industry - to improve their knowledge and gain experience. With the desire to fully master the technology and beer production process, including the most specialized and special processes, SABECO's staff worked with major domestic and foreign partners for 9 months to personally manufacture machinery and install the entire production line using the most modern technology in the world. Located at Nguyen Chi Thanh Brewery, the birthplace of Saigon Beer brand since 1875, SRC was built as a fully automated miniature brewery, fully equipped with production functions so that brewing experts can research and test new recipes and new processes before transferring them to 26 factories in the system. Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Mr. Lam Du An - Deputy General Director of SABECO in charge of Engineering and Production - said that SABECO's brewing experts have extensive experience from previous generations, are regularly trained at the world's leading academies and have a deep understanding of Vietnamese consumers' tastes as well as market trends, but previously they did not have enough space to unleash their creativity. "The birth of SRC will be the perfect place for them to create more new recipes with high processes and efficiency, bringing consumers high-quality beverage products and thereby realizing the dream of developing the Vietnamese beverage industry to the world level," Mr. An shared. Innovation & technology: Key to sustainable development SRC is an important milestone in SABECO's strategy to increase production capacity, create world-class beer products for consumers and thereby expand the brand's footprint in the international market. Mr. Lester Tan - General Director of SABECO - said: “The opening of this SRC center is a testament to SABECO's commitment to constantly innovate and apply technology to promote efficiency in production and business and increase competitiveness in the market. We promote sustainable growth by effectively managing resources, developing a highly skilled workforce, and creating high-quality products. Through our achievements, SABECO is committed to bringing positive values to the company, to shareholders and partners in the same value chain.”
