Quang Ngai supports redundant staff when merging commune levels

(Dan Tri) - In the 2023-2025 period, Quang Ngai will rearrange 9 commune-level administrative units. After the rearrangement, 55 redundant officials will be provided with appropriate support policies.

According to the People's Committee of Quang Ngai province, in the period of 2023-2025, the province will reorganize 9 commune-level administrative units. After the reorganization, Quang Ngai province will have 13 district-level administrative units and 170 commune-level administrative units (reducing 3 communes).

The reorganization of commune-level administrative units resulted in a surplus of 55 people. Of these, 24 were cadres, 12 were civil servants, and 19 were part-time workers.

On that basis, the Department of Home Affairs of Quang Ngai province has advised the Provincial People's Committee to submit to the People's Council for consideration and promulgation of support policies for commune-level cadres, civil servants and non-professional workers who are redundant due to administrative unit rearrangement.

If redundant officials and civil servants leave their jobs within 12 months from the date of the arrangement decision by the competent authority, they will receive a one-time support of VND 9 million/year of work with compulsory social insurance.

Those who leave work after 12-24 months from the date of the competent authority's decision on arrangement will receive 50% of the support level; those who leave work after 24-36 months from the date of the competent authority's decision on arrangement will receive 30% of the support level.

Those who leave work after 36 months from the date of the arrangement decision of the competent authority until before the end of the arrangement roadmap will receive one-time support, equal to 15% of the support level.

Commune-level officials and civil servants who previously worked as part-time workers will receive a one-time support of VND 5.1 million/working year.

If a redundant part-time commune-level worker leaves work within 12 months from the date of the arrangement decision by the competent authority, he/she will receive a one-time support of VND 5.1 million/working year.

In case a non-professional worker at the commune level previously worked as a cadre, civil servant, or public employee; a cadre or civil servant at the commune level, the working time in this position will be supported one time at the rate of 9 million VND/working year with compulsory social insurance.
