Quang Nam solemnly celebrates the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army

Attending the meeting were Vietnamese Heroic Mother Tran Thi Ly; Senior Lieutenant General, Hero of the People's Armed Forces Vo Tien Trung - former member of the Party Central Committee, former Director of the National Defense Academy; Lieutenant General Tran Phuoc Toi - former Deputy Chief of the Supreme People's Procuracy; and former heads of the Military Region 5 Command and the Provincial Military Command in different periods.

Leaders of Quang Nam province include comrades Luong Nguyen Minh Triet - Alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Nguyen Duc Dung - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Le Van Dung - Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation; Le Tri Thanh - Chairman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee; and former leaders of the province through the periods.

Speaking at the ceremony, Provincial Party Secretary Luong Nguyen Minh Triet emphasized that this is an opportunity to review the heroic and glorious tradition of the Vietnam People's Army; meet and pay tribute to generations of generals and senior officers of the army and police; and arouse the spirit of patriotism, gratitude, will and aspiration of each son of the resilient Quang Nam homeland.

On behalf of the provincial leaders, Comrade Luong Nguyen Minh Triet respectfully sent to the delegates his warmest greetings and best wishes on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army and the 35th anniversary of National Defense Day. At the same time, he reviewed the heroic and glorious history of the Vietnam People's Army during its 80-year journey of building, fighting, winning and growing.

"Looking back on the journey of the past 80 years, we cannot help but be moved when thinking about the image of the "Uncle Ho's soldiers" who are simple, resilient but full of noble ideals. They have gone through the most difficult years, putting their lives on the front line to protect the Fatherland. They not only fought for independence and freedom, but also for the happiness of every home, for the dream of peace of future generations" - Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Luong Nguyen Minh Triet was moved.

Sharing the same revolutionary roots, the Quang Nam Provincial Armed Forces were born on May 4, 1945 in Xuan Quang Commune (Tam Ky District) - now Tam Quang Commune (Nui Thanh District) - the predecessor of the Vu Hung Guerrilla Team. Through two resistance wars full of sacrifice, hardship and fierceness, the Provincial Armed Forces always upheld their loyalty to the Party, to the revolutionary cause of the nation and homeland, together with the whole people, writing immortal heroic epics, contributing to embellishing the tradition of the Vietnam People's Army.

Since the complete liberation of the South until now, the provincial armed forces have truly been the core force in building the all-people national defense, building the people's war posture; fighting with the entire people to defeat all plots and tricks of hostile forces, maintaining political security and social order and safety in the province.

The provincial armed forces are not only a fighting army but also a construction army, an army of compassion. Whether in wartime or peacetime, soldiers are always present as a symbol of dedication and sacrifice. They are always the leading force, present in remote areas, border areas or remote islands to protect every strip of land, every sacred wave of the Fatherland. They promptly go to vulnerable and difficult places to help people prevent natural disasters, search and rescue; actively participate in social security activities, sustainable poverty reduction, creating a premise for economic, cultural and social development of the province.

The achievements and maturity of the provincial armed forces over nearly 80 years of construction, fighting and growth are a true and vivid reflection of the noble qualities of "Uncle Ho's soldiers", contributing to further beautifying the tradition of Quang Nam homeland "Loyalty and steadfastness".

"The Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee acknowledge, commend and highly appreciate the great feats and achievements of the provincial armed forces over the past 80 years and have deep confidence in those who have been trained and matured in war and in the military environment, have the will, faith and determination to overcome all difficulties and successfully complete local military and defense tasks in both wartime and peacetime.

"I hope that comrades will continue to contribute their intelligence, experience, and life skills to build Quang Nam to become more and more prosperous and beautiful," Comrade Luong Nguyen Minh Triet emphasized.

To improve the overall quality and combat strength of the provincial armed forces, contributing to building a regular, elite, modern armed force, meeting the requirements and tasks of building and protecting the Fatherland in the new situation, comrade Luong Nguyen Minh Triet requested that Party committees, Party organizations, and authorities at all levels regularly lead and direct local defense and military tasks. Pay attention to building and consolidating the all-people national defense, the all-people national defense posture associated with the people's security posture, building an increasingly solid "people's hearts posture".

Well perform the task of socio-economic development combined with strengthening national defense and security; promote the combined strength of the political system and the great national unity bloc, strengthen the potential of national defense and security. Improve the leadership capacity, fighting strength of the Party organization and Party members; build a truly clean and strong Party organization in the Army.

In addition, focus on building the provincial armed forces with steadfast political will, absolute loyalty to the Fatherland, the Party and the People; increasingly high professional qualifications; respect and wholeheartedly serve the people; have healthy and simple qualities and lifestyles; have the ability to command and fight successfully in all situations; regularly raise revolutionary vigilance, be highly combat ready, and promptly advise on the successful handling of national defense and security situations arising in the area.

"Be proactive in preventing and overcoming the consequences of natural disasters, searching and rescuing victims. Strengthen internal solidarity, solidarity between the army and the people, and be closely attached to the people, because that is the source of strength that leads to the victory of our Army and people" - Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Luong Nguyen Minh Triet said.
