On April 1, the City People's Committee coordinated with Thai Nguyen University of Agriculture and Forestry to organize a scientific workshop on "Assessing potential and identifying suitable areas, orienting solutions for developing homestays and farmstays in the City". Attending were leaders of the Departments of Science and Technology; Culture, Sports and Tourism; Agriculture and Environment and the Provincial Tourism Association.
In recent years, the homestay and farmstay tourism model has developed strongly and is increasingly asserting its important role in the tourism industry. This is not only a simple form of accommodation but also brings sustainable cultural, economic and environmental values.
The city currently has 37 homestays, mainly operating as accommodation, motels, combined with restaurant services. However, the city lacks homestays and farmstays in the true sense to maintain green space, close to nature, fresh air, aiming for sustainable development, harmony between nature and rich cultural history.
At the workshop, units that have been implementing homestay, farmstay and other types of tourism in the province and the city presented the following papers: "Cao Bang tourism from the past to the present and the future"; "Stories from the early days of homestay/farmstay"; "Managing city tourism, opportunities for homestay/farmstay tourism to develop"; "Solutions for farmstay tourism to flourish"; "Orientation of standards and criteria for building homestay/farmstay in the province".
Experts, scientists, businesses and delegates discussed, exchanged and made many contributions to the City government about the potential, identified suitable areas, as well as proposed specific solutions to attract investment, improve service quality and ensure the sustainability of the model. Orientation of development solutions, standards, and construction criteria for current homestay and farmstay models...
The workshop is an opportunity for the City government to collect opinions from relevant parties to complete the assessment of potential and identify suitable areas, orient solutions for developing homestays and farmstays in the area. The City People's Committee will plan appropriate policies, continue to make efforts to implement solutions to contribute to the further development of Cao Bang tourism.
