Quang Nam has 4 more national treasures

Accordingly, on December 31, 2024, Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long signed the Decision to recognize national treasures in the 13th batch of 2024, recognizing 33 artifacts and groups of artifacts.

The artifacts and collections of artifacts recognized this time in Quang Nam include: Collection of gold jewelry and animal-shaped agate artifacts in Lai Nghi burial area (preserved at Quang Nam Museum's artifact warehouse) and 2 artifacts Dong Son bronze drum and Dong Son bronze jar owned by Mr. Luong Hoang Long (residing in Cam Pho ward, Hoi An city).

The newly recognized treasures this time are all original, unique artifacts with unique historical and cultural values.

The collection of gold jewelry and animal-shaped agate artifacts at Lai Nghi burial site, preserved and selected for the dossier by Quang Nam Museum, are artifacts discovered during the archaeological excavation at Lai Nghi burial site (Dien Ban town).

The site was discovered in 2000 and excavated by Quang Nam Museum in collaboration with archaeologists from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (Vietnam National University, Hanoi), the Institute of General and Comparative Archaeology of the German National Institute of Archaeology from 2002 to 2004.

Meanwhile, through appraisal, both Dong Son Bronze Drum and Dong Son Bronze Jar of Mr. Luong Hoang Long belong to the Dong Son cultural period dating from the 4th-3rd century BC to the 1st-2nd century AD.

These two artifacts are valuable in the study of Dong Son culture, contributing to the reconstruction of the ancient history of the country from the economy, society, and spiritual life of our ancestors.

This is also a product full of intelligence, showing the rare creativity, ingenuity and sophistication of our ancestors who created the indigenous bronze metallurgy technique, the bronze culture is among the best in Southeast Asia. This also contributes to affirming the cultural level of Dong Son residents was quite high compared to the Southeast Asian residents at that time.

It is known that among the national treasures recognized this time, there are 3 artifacts currently kept at the Da Nang Cham Sculpture Museum.
