“Quang Binh Discovery Marathon 2025” attracts tourists

(NADS) – The land known as the “Kingdom of Caves” continues to affirm its position as a leading tourist destination with a large-scale sporting event – Quang Binh Discovery Marathon 2025. The race not only creates a useful sports playground but also contributes to promoting tourism development, promoting the unique natural and cultural values of Quang Binh.

The event is held to celebrate major national and local holidays, and to continue implementing the policy of organizing annual races of the Quang Binh Provincial People's Committee. The Quang Binh Discovery Marathon 2025 promises to attract more than 1,300 registered athletes. Of which, there are nearly 20 foreign athletes from 12 countries and territories. and domestic and international movements to participate, experience unique running routes amidst majestic nature.

Athletes will have the opportunity to conquer the running routes through Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park, Chay River - Dark Cave, Botanical Garden, immersing themselves in the beautiful natural landscape of Quang Binh. This is an opportunity to promote the image of Quang Binh not only as an attractive adventure tourism destination but also as an ideal locality for developing sports tourism.

The tournament will take place on March 8 and March 9, 2025 with various distances suitable for many subjects:

• 42km: Departs at 05:00 from Phong Nha Tourist Center, finishes at Song Chay - Hang Toi Tourist Center.

• 25km: Departs at 06:00 from Phong Nha Tourist Center, finishes at Song Chay - Hang Toi Tourist Center.

• 10km: Start at 07:45 from the Botanical Garden, finish at Phong Nha Tourism Center.

• 06km: Departs at 08:00 from Phong Nha Tourism Center, finishes at Phong Nha Tourism Center.

The closing ceremony and award ceremony will take place at 10:00 a.m. on March 9, 2025 at Phong Nha - Ke Bang Town Tourism Center.

Speaking to reporters: Ms. Nguyen Thi Bich Thuy - Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Binh province said:

“We hope that Quang Binh Discovery Marathon will not only be a simple running race but also become a national and international sports and tourism event. Thereby, contributing to making Quang Binh an attractive destination for tourists and athletes, promoting local economic and tourism development, and spreading the spirit of sports and a healthy lifestyle.”

Mr. Tran Minh Hoang - athlete from Hanoi shared:

“This is the first time I have participated in a race in such majestic nature. The running route is both challenging and extremely beautiful with primeval forests, emerald rivers and majestic limestone mountains. I not only came here to participate in the race but also brought my family and friends to explore the beauty here.”

Ms. Marie Lemoine - French tourist expressed:

“I have traveled to many places in the world, but Quang Binh is truly a special destination with wonderful natural landscapes and friendly people. The tourism and resort services here are also very professional, especially the resorts close to nature. I am very impressed and will definitely introduce Quang Binh to international friends.”

The Quang Binh Discovery Marathon will not only be a sports competition but will become an annual event, promoting the running movement and raising the image of Quang Binh on the world tourism map.
