On the evening of March 3, the opening ceremony of the 9th Ho Chi Minh City Ao Dai Festival 2023 with the theme "I love Vietnamese Ao Dai" took place at Nguyen Hue walking street (District 1). After 8 times of organization, the Ho Chi Minh City Ao Dai Festival has become a typical annual cultural tourism event of the city.

The opening ceremony of this year's Ao Dai Festival was invested in on a large scale and innovated in content.

Attending the opening ceremony were former Vice President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh, President of the Vietnam Women's Union Ha Thi Nga, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Doan Van Viet, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Thi Thu Hang, Chairwoman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council Nguyen Thi Le and representatives of diplomatic agencies.

In his opening speech, Mr. Duong Anh Duc, Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, said that not only does it symbolize the beauty of the Vietnamese people, the ao dai also reminds people of a beautiful, friendly, and peaceful Vietnam; it reminds people of a destination with a strong identity in the hearts of international tourists.

During the opening ceremony, hundreds of actors and models presented 21 collections by famous domestic and international ao dai designers with the main themes: Ao dai in the heart of the city, Ao dai integrating with the world, Ao dai - The quintessence of a thousand years...
