The route contributes to promoting trade of goods from Becamex Binh Dinh Industrial Park to the Central Highlands provinces and Quy Nhon port, thereby creating momentum for socio-economic development; ensuring security and defense of the western localities of the province, especially the disadvantaged communes that are often cut off from traffic during floods.
When completed, this route will help complete and clear DT638 route, connecting from Chuong Hoa (Hoai Nhon Town) to Quy Nhon City, realizing the province's approved planning.

According to the Deputy Prime Minister, many difficulties and obstacles, especially in compensation and site clearance, complex mountainous geology, many locations requiring deep excavation and high embankment, and prolonged extreme weather, have affected the project's progress.
However, with the attention and direction of the Government, central ministries and branches, the coordination and support of departments, branches, localities and the great efforts and determination of investors and construction contractors, especially the consensus and active support of the people, the project was completed, ensuring quality and exceeding the set schedule.
"The route opens up new development space, making an important contribution to the socio-economic development of An Nhon town, Tay Son district, Van Canh district in particular and Binh Dinh province in general in the coming time," said the Deputy Prime Minister.
Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung requested Binh Dinh province to identify this as not simply a traffic route but to turn it into an economic corridor, and to plan both sides of the route closely. Land along the route must be exploited effectively and planned well.
The route connecting from National Highway 19 to Becamex VSIP Binh Dinh Industrial Park has a total investment of more than 1,170 billion VND, designed according to the standards of a grade III plain road, with a length of about 19.5km, a 12m wide roadbed, an 11m wide asphalt concrete road surface with 2 lanes for motor vehicles and 2 lanes for rudimentary vehicles.
The main line of the project started construction in August 2023 and was basically completed in 19 months, 5 months ahead of schedule.
The route helps shorten the distance from the intersection of National Highway 19 to the center of Becamex Binh Dinh Industrial Park from 31.5km to 16.5km.
